Quitting smoking cold turkey

Go to whyquit.com and look over their stuff. They helped me tremendously, though I recommend getting an e cig and going down on the nicotine and then quitting the ecig. I helped my friend and that is how she did it. She is now free from the cigarettes. She is better and doesn't have to take asthma medicine now. Praise The Lord.

I have been free from smoking for 3 years and I think about smoking zero minutes per day.

There is life after cigarettes.

It is easy. All the myths about quitting smoking being akin to quitting heroin are lies.

Well I am running out of smokes *on top of a mountain literally, 40 miles next town*... but have ounces of weed and cannabis oil concentrate.
Will this help my tobacco addiction?

Thats what I did September 2013. Easiest shit I ever experienced - after 20 years smoking one bag per day.

Cold is OK, but I prefer hot smoked turkey.

Definitely avoid the alcohol for awhile too--they go well together

You can do it.

I quit cold turkey. First two weeks are the worse.
Chew gum - keep your hands busy doing something else.
Don't drink alcohol for a couple of weeks.

go find the nastiest tasting cigarette that you can find and smoke those in place of your regulars. soon smoking will just be gross and you won't want them anymore. Then just quit cold turkey.

Also smoking pot and cloves instead (which I hate) helped me quit during those first 2 to 3 weeks because I didn't like it as much.

I did it last August in prep. for major surgery, sorta had too, but cold turkey was the best way for me.

A few times when it got bad, I just closed my eyes, and visualized smoking a cigarette (just visualized) and it helped, believe it or not.

I'm still clean, 3 more months will be a year. Still think about them, but that's as far as it goes. Still get cravings now and then out of the blue.

Good luck. I still think cold turkey is the best way. I quit many times before really quitting this time, and the ones I went the longest on were always when I quit cold turkey. I'm never going back now, I'm done. I had my fun Fun time is over.

Quit Thanksgiving Day 2014. Have sneaked maybe 4-5 cigs from various outlets since then (read friends, co-workers, random brunettes at the bar) ... but really have had little to no urge to "buy a pack" ... I have found my bottom line pleasantly increased by around $50 / month, and my general health is improving.

What did it for me was when I coughed up blood after a night of boozing and heavy smoking... that was a Halloween weekend party. Thanksgiving was my "cold turkey" day so to speak.

It's tough at first...but about 4-5 days after just not thinking about ciggys, I was good to go. I will smoke one occasionally when I'm drinking, but I generally find the smell disgusting now, and try to avoid smokers altogether.

My two cents.

I'm on day 3 of no smoking. Shits hard.

you should wake up some soon morning, and a few hours later realize you haven't thought about til then- and then you realize that "it" has left you.

But don't pick up again or you go straight back to where you left off.

I smoked three paks a day at one point, quit many times, the last time I had to let chantix eat my brain, but it worked,- five years later DONT PICK UP

7 years as a non smoker....cold turkey from a 2 pack daily habit.....had Baaaaad withdraw symptoms....ringing in ears, insomnia, shaky hands, nausea, and vertigo for about a week.....

I'm way passed wanting a cig again....the smell of smoke is nauseating to me now....

Quittibg is what losers do
