Truckers are already obsolete as there is software that can perform better than them. How on earth are you dumb enough to think in a intergalactic future there would be need for 'space truckers?'

Re: What timeline would you like to live in?
*******************

I have ALWAYS wanted to live during the PIONEER Days, "Little House on the Prairie."

I loved it when my family lived on a mountain with no running water some of the time. When the water ran, it was from a little artesian well.

We had a herd of Dairy goats and other animals. We had our own milk, butter, big garden and nice little cedar home and lots of out buildings. A little Chicken coop and lots of fresh eggs and chicken meat. We butchered for the meat, such it was fun to cut and wrap the meat.

We lived one mile from the main road, straight UP the mountain. Winter time was a challenge due to the steep drop off when driving down the dirt road to the highway`, but Gods Holy Angels always protected my family.*****************

It was GREAT living a little like pioneers.*****

I had my eye on a timeline 500 years in the future. No diseases, teleportation, full telepathy in a hybrid language of about 3 big languages, and off-planet tourism. I'd really like to visit to get the cure for my health problems.

Re: What timeline would you like to live in?
Probably 50's, 60's, and 70's.

The 50's because of the innocence and ability to raise a family with one breadwinner, even if you were working class, like my dad did.

The 60's because of the experimentation, the social change, and the emotional energy.

The 70's I was pretty cognizant of, because I was in my teens, exploring my world coming up.

Then Reagan, temp services, and jobs leaving the U.S. and going overseas happened, and I've mainly been struggling since then.

Yes - Our Ancestors knew about balance to a point. Yet we still ended up here.

I don't see how going back into the past can help anything.

I would love to live somewhere where you couldn't see anything that "man" has touched. Those have been my favorite times of this life. On a Ranch in N. Ca - where you could ride for days and not see a fence, or a road. Clean water to swim and fish in. The smell of dawn and dusk...ahhh

Milking the cow for breakfast - and being followed by the cats.

More stars in the skies than we ever thought were there - every new moon.

Heaven.

So when I say I want to go to the future - that is what I will be looking for. The ability to use technology and what we have learned, to live in balance and harmony with nature.

Build a little permaculture homestead. The food grows itself, House is heated with geothermal from the hot springs - while fresh spring water runs through the tap.

mmmmmmmmm yep. This.

Why would anyone choose medieval times over the 1920's?! I prefer better medical care, indoor plumbing and modern conveniences thank you very much! Good luck at the barber (i.e. dentist) in 1224

Re: What timeline would you like to live in?
I voted OTHER.

I'd want the 5th and 6th Centuries Britain.

This is the era when the Romans left Britain and supposedly the time when the mythical King Arthur rose to power.

Not the romanticized version of Arthur, but a real celtic warlord type of figure, possibly with some Roman connections.

Only thing that is known for sure, is that this one person drove the Germanic tribes out of Britain and maintained a peace for about 20 - 25 years before it all fell to darkness.
