VIDEO in link.

After the boy contacted Houston police on Tuesday, the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences arrived to verify the status of the body inside the casket.

Investigators determined that floodwaters likely moved the coffin from the Riceville Mt. Olive Baptist Church private cemetery on South Gessner Road near West Bellfort Street to where the boy found it. Leal Funeral Home staff helped police with the recovery of the displaced casket.

I think that the status would be 'dead'.

Yes, one would think that would have been obvious.

I was just amazed at the amount of rain coming into these areas that caskets are actual floating out of the ground. It's unbelievable.

It's funny, but not. I mean, funny in that you don't usually see coffins floating down the road, but imagine if it was your loved one. What a sucky situation.

I use to cut thru that cemetary as a kid, I lived off belfort and airport. Wow.

I also used to live off the seawall in Galveston right by two cemetaries. Once in 95, it rained for about a week straight during a tropical storm and we had 2 ft of water almost comimg up into the house on blocks. next day, there we over 20 coffins that had floated to the surface and broke thru the ground. before that I had wondered why lots of "tombs" were above ground and why lots had huge cement "slabs?" over them. was some creepy shi`ite!

Now that I have zoomed in , I can see several stars and even a little person. They are nearly the sameshade as skin. It got to be so me pixel artifact or "trade mark" that the camera or website puts on pics. I looked at other pics here and have seen simular artifacts. Thanks for the response, may you have a wonderfully doomy day. hf
