Has no one thought of this? You make it sound rare when you say +/-3 days from full or new moon. 29 days between between each full moon. A new moon happens the opposite of a full moon, so in the middle of the 29+days.

Its almost like saying youre more likely to have a car wreck when youre in a car.

Those guys realize that a huge shallow Earthquake near the coast could actually trigger a monster tsunami, right?

not to fear monger I hate fear mongering but saying that a big earthquake in the ocean couldn't have any consequence because a "volcano is being formed" is simply misinformation.

Damn USGS is trying to downgrade everything these days...

The change of orbit (if that is the case) is not related to the Milankovich cycles, but is a smaller adjustment that was set off by the March alignment, and we don't know that yet, could have been corrected or amplified by the May 28 alignment.

We only need to see small adjustments on the orbit for it to impact the solar irradiation that is between 1.36 - 1.48 kW/sq meter/h depending on latitude and season, and which brings us up from 0 K to whatever surface temperature we have at the moment.

The average magnitude of these 5 earthquakes is 5.2....

If you lived on the San Andreas fault.... would you not be a little afraid if 5 earthquakes 5.2 magnitude each started popping up right around the same spot on the fault line?
Do you think this indicates a destabilized fault that has just begun to be torn?

Britain faces tidal wave threat

Britain may be threatened by a monster wave that is predicted to devastate the coasts of Florida and Brazil following a volcanic eruption in the Canary Islands, scientists said today.

The mega-tsunami generated by part of a mountain twice the size of the Isle of Man falling into the sea would be the biggest ever recorded in history.

Today scientists warned that the UK would probably not escape the disaster unscathed.

A weaker, but still hugely destructive, wave was likely to hit Britain's Atlantic coastline.

Travelling at speeds of up to 500mph, the tsunami would be an unstoppable force.

Its first target was expected to be the West Saharan coast of Morocco, where the wave would measure an awesome 330ft from crest to trough.

But the built up coastal areas of Florida, Brazil and the Caribbean were expected to suffer the greatest destruction, according to a new forecast by Dr Simon Day, of the Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre at University College London.

Here, the wave would reach heights of 130ft to 164ft - higher than Nelson's column - and travel four or five miles inland, flattening everything in its path.

It shows many reporting agencies. The recent Japan quake USGS downgraded to 7.8 yet several other agencies including JAPAN stated it was an 8.5. There was even a report from Japan that they upgraded it further to a 9.1

The last being the strongest.

I realy hope there's no effect of that. Otherwise, I've played a little with Solarsystemscope and found july 2020. when almost all of the planets will be at the same side of the Solar system. What a stretch could it be! I've played more (moved Neptun, for faster moving( and found last time that happened in 3104. BC, sometime in the beggining of faraon era in Egypt. Still, it's a little more than 5120 years cycle in the Mayan calendar

Yes which usually means they are foreshocks UNLESS this is volcanic. Then who knows what will happen.

Here's a little traveling music for those smart enough to get moving.

The volcanic activity on the western coast of the US is caused from plate movement which is why we have volcanoes that explode instead of ooze out magma. Subbduction zones are the most volatile areas on the planet with regards to destruction on a widespread scale in a small amount of time. I think more earthquakes will occur of the coast of Oregon through out the day, getting larger and larger.

I don't know about these things, BUT, in trying to figure it out, looking at globalincident data - and being a fairly intelligent, logical person :)

I would say it's the same quake, being reported by three different reporting sources.

Exactly. When using GI, one needs to look at the times reported. This helps in telling new quakes from old ones.
