tiger1 User ID: 68665462 United States 06/01/2015 01:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The gene for multiple births is only carried on the female side. My great grandmother had 2 sets of fraternal twins, one year apart. I miscarried a set of fraternal twins. It doesn't matter if it is a first pregnancy or subsequent pregnancies, the odds stay about the same for having twins. The gene appears to skip generations also. What would show in the test if you share the same parent is you would have 50% of your genes in common with each other. A set of marker genes would be checked for this percentage by the lab, Look up genetic testing laboratories in your area. You can also make an appointment with a genetic counselor. This is someone who will assist you in getting the testing and interpreting the results. |

Thank U,I read most of that info. online and I called one next to us and he said since my 2nd cousin is my cousin and we can't get the father to be tested - we wont find out if we are siblings- because we will already have dna from our mothers that are related. So,Im going to ask my nuerologist at the VA hospital if I can take a gentic test and if he will test her for any gentic diseases in our family etc.. maybe I can do that and find out? |

My grandmother was an identical twin, she had my father, and my father had (my sisters) who are identical twins. Fixed now! I am female, as was the first kitten, Raye, I helped bring into this world and had the treasure of giving her love for 7 1/2 short years. My handle here is in her honor. |

My grandmother who was a twin were the oldest girls. My twin sisters are younger then me, and were the 4th pregnancy. I think the twin gene is just that, the twin gene. Each pregnancy has the capability of being a twin. That's excluding fertility drugs, of course.
