This shit happens in some places a lot more than others. Hard questions need to be asked why it's far more common in some states, some jurisdictions, vs others.

How is an unarmed cop supposed to stop, arrest an armed robber, rapist, etc.? What do British cops do when confronted with someone armed, run and hide, then call for armed back-up? What if there's no time for back-up? I just don't get it.

With very rare exception, UK one of them, police everywhere are armed. It's common-sense.
