NTimes User ID: 69430098 Canada 06/05/2015 05:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Unfortunately the prognosis for this is very bad. The most important thing is for this father to spend time with his family and make the most of the time he has left, Instead of spending time running after a cure. I am sorry to give such bad news but this is what I was trained for as a doc. I have now and will continue to pray for this family! Hey, hey, hey, hey-now. Don't be mean; we don't have to be mean, cuz, remember, no matter where you go, there you are. - Buckaroo Banzai: |

I also steamed a bunch of veggies & ran it thru 2 coffee filters. My mom had the wipple surgery but 1 lymphnode tested positive. Then gemzar (chemo)...when that was failing she tried a cocktail of chemos...then the end came. I'm sorry, pancreatic cancer is very bad. Make use of the time remaining! Laugh with him...then laugh again! Look for a good hospice for his final days. I will say a prayer for him. |

Yes you are right, it might be more important for him to have as much quality time with his family, than to do spend the end of his life chasing a cure. |

Mergler User ID: 66149053 United States 06/05/2015 05:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm sorry to hear that. My father had it at 80. As close to hopeless as any cancer can be. He had a modified "Whipple" surgery- removed part of liver, pancreas, intestines, surrounding tissue ect....absolute butchery, despite his age being well past the comfortable limit for such a horrible procedure. He lived another year or year and half and suffered quite badly. At almost any stage the prognosis is extremely grim. Seeing what I saw, if I get it I will go right away for palliative care whatever my age. But the will to fight is strong so that could change. I still think it's a quality vs. quantity type discussion when it comes down to pancreatic cancer, and where one places time on that spectrum. I'm sorry, but it almost could not be a worse diagnosis. Anonymous Coward User ID: 19170704 Iceland 06/05/2015 05:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am so very sorry for your Father's friend. Respectfully, when the cancer has achieved Stage 4, this means it has spread to distant organs :( The 5 year survival rate for pancreatic cancer patients at this stage is 1%. :( At this stage, the No. 1 priority of treatment will shift from extending life to alleviating symptoms, especially pain. Along these lines, it is HIGHLY recommended that the patient be treated at a learning hospital, such as those associated with a large university medical school. MAYO Univ of Michigan Johns Hopkins etc.. These types of hospitals typically have the very best physicians on staff as they are instructors. Medicine aside, the most important thing anyone can do is make sure this fellow is right with the Lord. Repenting of sin, seeking salvation, etc... Get someone to share the Gospel with him. It can really make for a peaceful passing. |

That is to make his body recognise that the cancer is bad and should not be there. Only way i've heard to do this is visualisation, leading to spontaneous remission, but this is exceptionally rare. The body is the servent of the mind. |

And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 55611245 United States 06/05/2015 05:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What can we do? We want to get a juicer and start juicing asap. Cabbage and carrots. Any recommendations? Special diet? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59228281 Pancreatic cancer is so deadly because by the time it shows up in the pancreas, it's already too late. However, going on an all plant-based, organic diet certainly would be the best natural option. No meats, dairy, processed sugars and other products. Juicing, therefore, isn't exactly necessary as it's best not to drink your calories. Eat the whole foods as they are naturally packaged with everything that is needed for their best use and stripping off those components isn't wise for the very sick. And don't be afraid of fruits as there are many who have cured cancer on a raw vegan diet full of fruits. |

There's a common chemical called dichloroacetate /dca which us very promising but no use to the industry as its already common. There's vitamin b17 made from apricot kernels which is meant to be the cure all and last but not least is a raw organic veg diet, which I'm sure is more preventative than cure, but worth a shot if you're dying. |
