defending against looters during shtf

you gotta get the drop on them dude!

Sandbags and plywood. Build fighting positions inside your house. Most houses offer absolutely no cover, just concealment and turning the whole house into cover is expensive. Just buy a couple hundred sandbags and when shit hits the fan fill them up and make yourself some fortified positions.

Armored bears.

All depends on how many of them there are and how much ammo you have.

If one of them gets away then your in the shit cos he'll come back mob handed.

Tips!

1) pre cut plywood to cover all points of possible entry. Precut so they can be put up in a hurry. Have them now and not when there is a shortage due to impending riots.

2)Other than guns, have non lethal weapons. I have some pepper gas foggers. You want the large long range crowd pleaser size ones not the little pocket sprayers. Electric cattle prods/tasers/stun guns are useful too. Paintball gun rapid firing pepper balls can break up concentration of looters too.

3)Deterrents such as million candlepower spotlights and loudspeakers broadcasting psyops such as Sky trumpet sounds can work to confuse mob.

4)If you have to employ force, lethal or nonlethal, target the leaders or aggressive looters. For instance the ones trying to break in or the first person of a group approaching.

Safety film for your windows will significantly slow down anyone trying to break in. Buy heavy duty locks for your doors and barricade them. Use your furniture as an obstacle for intruders and create fatal funnels by controlling their ability to maneuver.

this will work until they fire bomb your house. the way they slowed down the looters in the middle ages was with high thick walls and moats.

This is the only logical answer...

I feel armored pigs may be better, because they would double as a source of bacon too.

I have nothing to steal. Well we have electronics. i'll put those on the lawn so they can take them.

Do not underestimate a scoped hi power pellet gun. Remember you don't have to kill them, just move them along to find other targets. Self defense is never denied tho.....

Yeah....unfortunately they might want to attack/rape/kill you or your family too....leaving an "offering" will only embolden them.

Dig a 12 foot deep trench around the house except for the one spot that goes to your door.
It becomes the ONLY point of entry.
THEN, you fill a few 2 gallon buckets of gasoline.
Hang those over the entrance.
Have an ignition point that has wires connected to the door mat and and have it set up so it ignites those who crossed over firs. Then you have the looters drenched with gas, then you click the switch, and THEN it's BBQ time.

All you have to do is point and shoot with a short barrel shotgun at that point.

Then they lose out on looting your stuff and suffer heavy casualties in the process. It's not fool proof by any means, if a large enough group commits to wiping you out by burning your house down you'll probably lose no matter how well prepared you are, but they won't get anything out of it except some dead buddies at least. Building a couple bunkers will at least give you a chance, cause plastic siding and dry wall isn't going to keep you safe. Your best bet is a completely remote location or a heavily fortified building that is bullet resistance, both of which are out of the price range of most.
