I had no problem with that all.

You notice the guy didn't fight back. There was no anger on his part. He knew he was guilty.

It wasn't like the shopkeeper beat him senseless. He slapped him a few times across the face. Like a Mom would have done a generation ago to an errant child. A pretty light punishment, and it was done and finished. Easier than involving the cops over a a few pounds worth of stolen merchandise.

I liked how the shop keeper handled it. If he got the police involved, they would come in and shoot the kid and the shop owner and take whatever they wanted. I guarantee you a slap on the face like that will humiliate him for life that he won't ever think of shoplifting again.If he feels tempted, the sting of that slap will be remembered in his mind forever.
