I don't get it.

These so called visions of Jesus from others I really don't find worth pondering..

If I ever happen to see him for myself I'll consider.

Too many story tellers and money scammers out there.

What he saw was a vision.

Acts 2:17 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams."

I have also seen visions.......many of us have.

All I can say is my brother that had the NDE, saw a great light he could not look upon and did see Angels but not The Lord

so angels are real, but the lord is fake?

He is very real but not till second coming and every knee bows will we see the Lord

It is very important to realize that Christ's word is for YOU -that He maay work through you in a one-to one act which instills faith in another.

If you are led by the Spirit, you'll know when you are being prompted to extend charity. That act will be life changing.

I once gave my only quarter to a man who quickly used it to call emergency people who saved his daughters life. I was the only one out there that day, and all I had was a quarter.

I knew a black man who didn't have a lot of money, but when he could afford a new pair of pants, he carefully folded his old garment on the edge of the dumpster outside. His hope was that someone who could use it would come along. His offering was always acceptable to God and the needy person woeld always come by. These people would see this clothing they needed laid out in such a way, was an act of God. Their faith was greatly strengthened.

I could give you a lot of examples like this..this is the true faith..knowing the voice of God and obeying it. We are to reckon ourselves to being dead to the world..that Christ might live for us..

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

I've read literally many thousands of posts on GLP over the years, and these 2 posts are by far the best ones I ever read. One was posted by an AC user and the other by member Troubled Waters several years ago.

"By the grace of God I was privileged to see Jesus Christ in a vision. This vision took place when I was visiting a nursing home in El Paso, Texas. It occurred during the early 1980s. I had come to preach and minister to the elderly. On this day, I was rather discouraged.

As the people were singing songs, I closed my eyes and asked, "Lord, is it worth me coming to this nursing home to visit and preach to the people? They don’t seem to be improving." After praying this simple prayer, I opened my eyes, and to my astonishment I saw the Lord.

I didn’t see Him in his traditional garments; instead I saw Him sitting in a wheelchair with a blanket over His legs. There was suppose to be an elderly man sitting there, but instead it was the Lord. As I looked across the room, all I could see was Jesus. I saw Jesus in the place of all the people. He wore a nurse’s uniform. He sat in a chair where there was a lady supposed to have sat. I could not see anyone’s face. I only saw the Lord.

As I looked in astonishment, I heard the Lord say, "Whatever you have done for one of the least of these, you have done unto me." The vision ended.

I knew that the Lord was telling me to continue to visit these wonderful people, because it was like visiting the Lord. Everywhere I’ve gone I have tried to have this same attitude. Whoever I preach to, I see Christ in them."

A young girl named Sally told the story of what happened in her seminary class. She had a very unique professor who would often use physical illustrations. Well, Sally walked into the class one day and saw they were in for a fun day.

On the wall was a big target, and on a near by table were many darts - Mr Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone who they disliked, or someone who had made them angry, and he would allow them to throw darts at that persons picture.

Sally's friend drew a picture of one who had stolen her boyfriend, another drew a picture of his little brother - Sally drew a picture of a former friend, putting great detail into her drawing, even the pimples on her face. The class then lined up and began throwing darts.

Some threw with such force that their target was ripping apart. Sally looked forward to her turn, but was filled with disappointment when Dr Smith said, because of time he asked the students to return to their seats... and Sally sat thinking how angry she was b/c she didn't have a chance to throw any of her darts at her target.

Then Dr Smith began to remove the target from the wall - underneath the target was a picture of Jesus. Needless to say a hush fell over the room, as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus. Holes, jagged marks covered His face and His eyes were pierced.

It was then that Dr Smith said only these words... assuredly I say to you, in as much as you have done this unto the least of my brethren, you have done it unto me. No other words were necessary, as tears filled the eyes of the students as they viewed the mangled picture of Jesus.

I love the story of the class room and Jesus lives in each of us and every time we are not loving to one another it is the same as not loving Jesus

I don't care if they are "true stories" or "historically accurate" or what have you, as Jesamyn West said, "fiction reveals the truth that reality obscures"..I find that holds true a great many times.

and the words INASMUCH are my favorites in the KJV.

not that I'm a Christian, and yes, have done more than my fair share of what some would consider "Christian Bashing", but that is because I have a lot of experiences in my past that have left a deep imprint on my psyche and that I am still working through today. I do not agree with the viewpoint that many "traditional" Christians that are religious today hold, but it's not the disagreements that cause me to lash out, it's the knowledge of the evils committed by the church and many in it and the harm they do particularly to children. On one of the glp threads there was a poster who wrote a list of identifying factors/characteristics of shills and trolls, and it was pretty thought provoking for me..because I guess at times I would fit the definition of a troll in that I would sometimes do the

"think of the children"

one..except I wasn't doing it to "get a rise", but because of all the emotion it brought about in me concerning the issue that I guess you could say spew out at times, only because it was just so hard to keep in it at times, and online was both the safest and only outlet I would have..

not that it's an excuse.

but maybe it's just my way of saying that not every trollish or shillish comment or even viewpoint is coming from someone that is paid or indoctrinated..

it might just genuinely be how they feel. I'm not a Christian, but I am down with sharing and forgiveness, just not the "turn or burn" philosophy or the child abuse.

This is the heart of Christianity and the reason why I still believe that real/metaphor, if one ignores the old testament, Christ is still the way back home.
