I have personally attended a "black church". They were perhaps a bit wary at first, but eventually welcomed me. I even had some nice conversations after the service. They, in fact, seemed to like that I was there, unafraid and nonjudgmental, and acted as if those are commendable character traits. Like normal, caring human beings. Go figure.
