I've never heard of the federal government, or state for thst matter, immediately handing out $$$$ to violent crime victims...never. My father was victim of a violent, racially motivated crime when I was 10 years old; he was jumped by a group of young black men while coming home from work. We lived in a inner city neighborhood that still had a large white population at the time. These dudes came from a housing project located about 1/2 mile from our home. They surrounded him, didn't say a single word, one of them put his arm around my dad's back, holding a .22 gun, and shot him point blank in the lowerback, immediately paralyzing him. They then just walked away. Oneof our neighbors and one of my sisters found him lying in the street, next to his car. After 2-3 years my mom did receive $10,000. from some sort of victim's of violent crime fund....oh, and they gave her some food stamps. Police did nothing, said they knew the gang responsible, but couldn't arrest them. The FBI got involved, 2 agents visited my mom once, they said it was being investigated as a racially motivated hate crime, never heard from them again. An off duty cop told my mom privately the city was very concerned with violent white backlash and was hushing up black on white violence.

Can I ask something.....even if it is out of ignorance?

I have seen the families of victims address the person convicted of murdering a loved one AFTER the conviction. In other words, AFTER the suspect is convicted---a jury has determined guilt---after sentencing---the family makes remarks before the convict is taken to prison. I have never seen the family address a suspect PRIOR to a conviction. Have any of you ever seen this before?

I know. What type of picture is that anyways? When do pictures like that get taken? When they get booked isnt the picture from a different type of angle or something? It looks like a still from a movie. I also thought that the Facebook pic with him in the coat looked like it was for the movie poster or something. He and someone else went out in the woods and he posed for a picture looking like a psycho?

My thought was this: EVEN with a "surveillance photo", our "justice" system asserts we a innocent until proven guilty. Permitting the victims to address a suspect ahead of a trial does at least two things--It makes a statement that he is guilty BEFORE he is proven guilty and it taints the future jury (persuades them of his guilt).

also the way his appearance changes so drastically, that is a sign of an allergic reaction or some profound anaphylactic stress. Anaphylactic shock or allergic reactions can kill you and cause severe organ/brain damage.
