I am embarrassed to show the book I wrote to my family

I wrote a book, and people love it. The curve on the purchase stats shows that people like it. Also, people are spontaneously reviewing it, including top reviewers.

Here's the funny thing. I haven't told my family yet that I wrote a book.

It might be my problem. I didn't tell them that I was married until I was about a year into the marriage.

Again, maybe my problem, or maybe TPTB brainwashed the older generation, but I feel like any time I tell my family what I'm planning they talk me out of it. Or maybe they are just making conversation but it has the effect of talking me out of it. Anyway, I've learned that to get stuff done, you have to stay mum, until it is complete.
