From "uncle" Intel, I can tell you to separate NASCAR from the racing teams themselves. The teams are struggling for full time sponsors and a lot of it rests on NASCAR's shoulders IMO. They keep trying to pander to the folks outside of the fans, their going to lose their base, hardcore fans.

I'm old enough to remember when NASCAR had the "Rebel 500" at Darlington each year, replete with the battle flag being hoisted in victory lane.
