You know that their sense of smell is 10,000 times stronger than ours is right? (maybe up to 100,000 times)

That means that they can probably smell each individual bit of the different foods that make up shit or puke.

To them it smells like a buffet of different flavours, as nasty as that is. Besides, what the hell do you expect of animals, that they'd eat caviar and foie gras?
