I wonder who you are really working for?

think yourself by actually reading every word, study to be approved.

you do know that names transliterate, right?

And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

the one above can ALONE dispel your myth about the name and ALSO contains both languages you contend with, because God knew this controversy would arise and put that in there to show his children the truth and to be wary of those like you.

you do also know that one speaking a certain language cannot properly pronounce another in most cases, right?

Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

i wonder what Jesus will say to one who is trying to turn his children from his name and to prevent those who would come!

I think Yahshua will forgive you if you speak the name of 'Jesus' because He knows the intent of your heart.

However, how would you feel if you went to a foreign country and the locals translated or transliterated your name into something foreign to your ears? Would you prefer they speak a made-up name that doesn't even sound similar to yours, or would you prefer they speak the name you were given?

Sure if someone can't pronounce it properly, or if their language can't spell it properly, I'm sure you would forgive them for that, yes? Or if they didn't know your true name, you would overlook their indiscretion, yes? But what if they insisted in speaking a man-made name for you instead of your God-given name even when they knew your real name? You might be willing to tolerate it if it was just ignorance on their part. But what about those people who know better, but yet insist to continue replacing your name with a made-up name? How might you feel about those people?

The Greeks have an excuse- their language doesn't have sounds that correspond with 'Y' or 'sh', so their language can't reproduce the name 'Yahshua' correctly. When Jewish scholars translated the bible into Greek before Yahshua was born, they ran into this problem, so they invented the name 'Iesous' as the closest approximation of 'Yahshua' they could find in the Greek language. Unfortunately, it's not very close at all. ('Yahshua' is a common name even in the Tenach/Old Testament)

However, in English we have no problem with spelling and pronouncing the proper name 'Yahshua'. But since English bible translators get most of their words from older versions of English bibles, and also from Greek & Latin bibles, they erroneously take the name of 'Jesus' or previously one of it's earlier forms from those sources instead of from the original names in Hebrew or Aramaic. They forget that in modern times, proper names are usually not supposed to be translated into English other than the using of the Latin form/letters.

Even if English bible scholars decided to translate the Hebrew 'Yahshua' or the 'Yeshu' derivative from Aramaic, they should not go to middle-man language sources such as Latin or Greek, but should return to the original Hebrew or Aramaic to use as the source of their translations. If they did so, the name of 'Yahshua' would be translated as 'Joshua' in the English. Bible translators have done this with other personalities in the bible having the same name, but yet they still mostly refuse to do so with the most important 'Yahshua' of them all, our Savior.

Another issue is that, since the invention of the Roman Catholic church, many priests and later Protestant preachers have kept a distance from anything to do with the Jewish roots of Christianity. And with their bias comes a preference for Latin and Greek sources, and a dislike of any Jewish references, including Jewish names. It's a shame really that they deny their heritage. They tend to forget that Yahshua and His apostles were all Jews.

So there really is no excuse for modern-age Christian believers to continue to use faulty derivatives of Greek and Latin translations of the bible, when they can easily go back to the original sources to see what their Savior was really called. Continued use of the name 'Jesus' seems counter-intuitive today, and seems like an ongoing "tradition of men" instead of an honest quest to walk closer with Yahshua.

To me, this is just another example of the fact that the Reformation that created Protestantism didn't go far enough. Paganistic legacies left over from the Roman Catholic church still exist in Christian (non-Catholic) culture today. And I think the word 'Jesus' is one of those legacies that needs to be replaced with a 'back to the source' approach to re-discovering our true roots as followers of 'The Way', that is to be followers of our Jewish savior Yahshua Ha'Machiach, our Savior the Messiah.

So do I think one sins by using the word 'Jesus'? No, I think He knows your heart and your intent. But now that you know the truth, wouldn't it be more respectful and reverent to call Him by His true and proper Name?

Peace

You people got some seriouse juju on you making you call a hebrew messiah the greek god zues. If he had a hebrew name, christianity which isn't even a hebrew title is a cursed joke.

The only people telling you to ignore this want to keep making money off christianity. All this time was the most high's grace, now the truth is out and you can't ignore it.

Blessed are the poor, christianity is the biggest multi billion dollar industry with the vatican having it's own country(with a complementary statue of the male fallace as a landmark for anyone who isn't blind to their deception).

Guess who's the father of lies? Now look back at who changed the titles and translations of the gospel and gave you christianity and lies.
