Does Microwave Food Kill You?

When did microwave ovens hit the mainstream... mid-1970s. Yes, it killed everyone that used them in the last 40 years. We're all ghosts. Boo.

Really good point about the water in a microwave.

I don't have a link for the article, but I did
read how some kids did a science experiment for
their class.
They microwaved water that was to water some
little bean sprouts...the control group got normal
water and normal sun--they did just fine.

But little bean sprouts that got the microwave water
died. The microwave apparently destroys certain bonds
in molecular structures. And...who knows while those
molecular structures are being broken down by the
waves, what OTHER COMPOUNDS are setting up in the
food because there is a chemical reaction. It could
actually intensify the affects of such things as
the asparatame sweeteners that about 7,000 U.S.
food products contain. It's bad enough WITHOUT heating
it...who knows what happens in combination with other
chemicals that have never been studied.

You pay a price for convenience. We got rid of our
microwave a year ago and have been cooking everything
the conventional way. It takes longer, but the food
tastes better, we don't eat any TV dinners, now
and we feel much better. I'd say get rid of them!

No they arrived in the mid 80's, when grocery stores changed to carry all the processed food. Before there would only be a small frozen section in stores.

A few years ago I was all about the microwave- you can make a cupcake, an omelet, noodles or rice...the possibilities were endless for a single college student!

Now, I use my microwave maybe once a month, usually to defrost meat. I found that it doesn't take that much longer on a stovetop and it DOES taste better- whether it's because the food flavors meld together better or if it's just the acts of preparing the items and watching them come together.

... like microwave popcorn. Check the employee lawsuit against Jollytime popcorn. Cancer causing ingredients were proven.

I dont think microwaving it makes it bad for you but it does destroy the nutrients by vibrating molecules .

So I use the microwave as such . If I dont need any nutrition for the day but im in a hurry and just need to not be hungry ill use it .

or for like popcorn .

Throw a nasty dirty sponge in for less than min.

Let it cool a bit. Then see if most or all smell is gone.

the frozen microwave meals are garbage..healthy foods just warmed up is probably ok

Nothing cooked/warmed up in the microwave is ok.

THE ONLY THING THAT SHOULD BE MICROWAVED IS LETTUCE,LEAFY GREENS AND RAW BEEF!!!!!

I'vs seen people at work "just warm up" a cup of coffee - in a STYROFOAM cup for a few seconds in the microwave!

And LOTS of people heat things for MINUTES in plastic containers and take out type containers

I stopped using microwaves because of all the information on how they are bad for you. I actually like how it takes me longer to reheat things. I never ate the shit microwave foods anyways. Heating up some water on the stove for tea doesn't take that long with a small amount of water.

I have no problem eating something cold instead of using a microwave at work.

Microwave is a Nazi created weapon of war. The "microwave oven" kills all enzymes and any value the food has. Quick and easy and yes ultimately it will kill you just like a cell phone will.

In Soviet Russia, microwave cooks YOU.
