There is quite a bit of work being done to empowed and build private localized networks regional servers. Much of this is coming out of South America. It may be a way to isolate from intrusion .

Now that quantum computing exsists, and is comercially availible, there is no encryption that cannot be broken. So the only way to neutralize the snooping is to isolate. Might be a good thing to know for when the internet switch gets thrown. Anyone have any expirence with this stuff?

I think its a sign of weakness that they are "telling" us over and over. Its like an all bark, no bite type of behavior.

Good encryption on good machines (PGP & open source hardware) will beat snooping.

I'll actively work my whole life to fight surveillance but im thinking this isnt their endgame and if they're telling us over and over by media or limited hangout consider it a "bark" meant to induce fear and dont let it bother you. This rodeo is going somewhere entirely different!

But of course they never stopped recording/tracking. That's gotta be one huge storage storage space. And our tax dollars pay for it! Fuckers.

I would say sneak it in through the backdoor (because of the flag and gay marriage stories) but even that logic doesn't apply anymore. NSA Can Restart Phone Dragnet, Surveillance Court Rules

Americans had a one-month reprieve from the bulk record collection.


After a monthlong delay the Obama administration on Monday won permission to restart its dragnet collection of American call records.

In an order publicly released Tuesday, a judge on the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (WhoTF! & HowTF!) said the National Security Agency program discontinued May 31 can resume and continue until Nov. 29.

The surveillance-reforming USA Freedom Act that became law June 2 specifically allows for the dragnet collection until 180 days after its enactment, Judge Michael Mosman wrote.

"To some degree, finding supportive legislative history for a proposition is a little like stumbling upon a multi-family garage sale: if you rummage around long enough, you will find something for everybody, and none of it is worth much," he wrote. "But in this case, the clear impact of a statutory exegesis is amply supported by the views of the drafters."
