The government has mandated that FOLIC ACID is put in cereal, and breads-- another reason not to ever eat processed foods. Many people have a MTHFR gene mutation which makes additional folate essential. (in the methyl form) There are two main MTHFR genes that we currently know a bit about. One is C677T, and the other is A1298C. Since we all get two copies of each gene, one from Mom and one from Dad it is possible to inherit one, two or no copies of a gene mutation. With MTHFR you could have no copies. One copy of C677T One copy of A1298C Two copies of C677T Two copies of A1298C Two copies of C677T and one copy of A1298C Two copies of A1298C and one copy of C677T If one parent has no copies of the mutation a child can't get two copies. No one can have two copies of both -- they would have never been born as that is too much damage to live. Chances you or someone you love has one of these gene mutations. Having two copies, or three is much worse. Help can be found with a good methyl folate supplement, and a good Dr, along with lots of research. "You can bend it and twist it... You can misuse and abuse it... But even God cannot change the Truth.” Michael Levy |
