NASCAR boycott
Should the fans boycott NASCAR over the Confederate Flag ban? Have they forgotten who their fan base is?

It ain't gonna be pretty. I know several diehard fans that book hotels months in advanced. Not all NASCAR fans are poor. The ones I know have money and are big spenders in the cities where these events are held.

A poll taken in my town found that people take the confederate flag more as a symbol of southern pride rather than racism.

Back when I used to go to NASCAR races the wife and I would drop about $1,500 on the weekend between camping, tickets, food, booze and buying things at the track. We stopped going shortly after Brian France and the "Car of Tomorrow".

I'm thinking the fly over states should be boycotting many things. Businesses listen when you simply hit them in the pocket.

Fans could pool their money together to do aerial advertising campaigns with a plane trailing both a confederate flag and a don't tread on me flag over the tracks on race days for the rest of the season.

I'd donate!

I'm from the north, I have never associated the rebel flag with racism. This whole thing smells bad to me....I don't like it at all.

Re: NASCAR boycott
I started boycotting NASCAR in the 90's due to all the commercialization and rule changes. They totally hosed up that sport.

I'm way ahead of everyone. I've never watched Nascar.

I flip past that channel always because it isn't real racing.

"Oh look they're turning left. Gosh what are they gonna do next? I'm just pissing my pants with anticipation."

Re: NASCAR boycott
I'm sure they have market research people who have unequivocally determined that they will do better financially with banning the flag than by keeping it.

Maybe they're trying to develop a fan base that won't be locked up in Fema camps or dead?

IDK, but I'm pretty sure that their statement when they banned the flag was "keep your filthy money, haters."

Re: NASCAR boycott
Since NASCAR is giving in to the political correctness and the threat of a boycott by the NAACP, possibly with a boycott by the fans then NASCAR can get the NAACP to fill the already empty seats at the races and buy and support their advertisers.

Re: NASCAR boycott
What does a flag have to do with nascar?

Ive been a fan for 25 years, and ive never seen one on ANY car EVER, even in Charlotte.

Ive been to almost every race shop, from Yates, Roush, Hendricks, Penske, etc...never saw one set of stars and bars there.

Get a confederate flag tattoo if you feel that strongly about it....your whole back.

Then go shirtless at a race, they cant take it off of you.

Now stop looking for things to complain about, cause almost all of you barely leave your house, let alone travel to a racetrack.

Or even buy tickets, so please stop.

Want to boycott something?

Boycott banks.

Start holding your own cash, bury it in the back yard.

Then, MAYBE, if enough people do it, you can make a difference.

Know how many NASCAR fans are here at GLP?

Maybe 6.

Move on.

Re: NASCAR boycott
I thought they had run off all the fans already. Until this year I hadn't missed a race since the 70s. The rules keep getting worse every year. Now it's all bull-shit, so who cares. I guess I'm already boycotting, just for different reasons.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
