I heard nuclear weapon detection devices. NBC sniffer trucks have been dispersed for years in CONUS. Big cities have stationary detection devices. (not that they would really be able to diferentiate with the ever increasing backgroud rate of radiation, until it exploded or was unshielded)

I do not doubt the threat. I have noted the disturbing number of radiologic medical grade isotopes stolen in Mexico over the last two years.

What concerns me is the emphasis they are placing on the 4th. Regardless of who initiates a terrorist attack, it sounds as if something is going to happen. This has without a doubt created an atmosphere of fear. Goal accomplished.

You'll notice at 4:02 when he tries to clarify why dirty bombs are a concern and cover his previous slip that he does a half smile or smirk. They call that micro expression "duper's delight" it's a signal that the person is being deceptive and is confident they are succeeding in their deception...

I know a guy in nuclear waste disposal-plutonium, Savannah River. He has all kinds of contacts.

I asked him about all the little Russian nukes that went missing in the early 90s, smuggled into Chechnya and then to the highest bidder.

He said yes, some of them are here and they will work, although with a smaller bang than the original design (which I think for suitcase type nukes is in the Hiroshima/Nagasaki range).

They won't take out too big a radius, but the fallout cleanup will be a big long mess.

Easy to hide, stick them in a lead lined box and nobody would ever know. Wheel them on a hand truck anywhere.

You have to assume the FBI has found some or many of them....I've read estimates that at least two dozen came in during the 90s. But what happens if just a few go off, one week apart, in major cities? Cities will empty. Stocks will tank. Panic will ensue.
