(Tire Pressure Monitoring System) Just a hunch on that one.. Good info, OP. |

Now, they can hide the tax by charging individuals for their usage and basically said that you control your charge by how many miles you drive. TAXES HAVE GOTTEN SO OUT OF CONTROL, WE ARE GETTING TO THE POINT WHERE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT PEOPLE ARE PAYING WON'T COVER THE EXPENDITURES OF OUR NATION. On this 4th of July, those who fought for Independence would puke to witness the amount of money the citizens of this country are being taxed. There will be a point, might not be in our lifetime where the TPTB will tax the citizens to the point where they won't earn a dime and every penny they make will eventually go back into the system. Instead, the government will provide you with a home and substance. It in reality is the glorified version of communism that many of our Greatest Generation fought against. "Offer me money, offer me power... I don't care." |

Are they going to remove ALL the Federal and state taxes off the price of gasoline at the pump before starting this new tax? And why should an individual pay a Federal tax for every mile driven when most of their commute is on county or state roads, not interstate highways? Or even miles they put on their vehicles used on their acreage? Do you have to pay a tax for those miles also? State taxes pay for the upkeep of state and county roads, not all Federal dollars. Seems like their trying to make you pay for something your aren't using all that much, if at all. See, this pay by the mile is a perfect example of a serious lack of government foresight. For years the government has been demanding consumers to save energy and reduce gas consumption. Then they started on the car companies to increase gas milege of the vehicles. Now, since those things have happened they suddenly realize they aren't getting enough tax money anymore! And the highways are still a piece of crap like in years past! What are they doing with all the highway funds they have collected for decades and decades? Why penalize only the people that drive cars? When are the city dwellers that take a subway or taxi or bus going to pay a road tax? Do they not eat food delivered by trucks that use the highway? They rely on the highway just like everyone that drives a car. This is really going to stick it to the people that don't live in the concrete jungles. They could reduce their gas consumption by buying more efficient vehicles, but now, it wont matter as much. They will be paying out the nose in "highway miles tax". Just make the people that buy hybrids or electric cars pay a milage tax. Leave the rest of us alone. |

Usually those two are the firts to implement ridiculous bullshit laws lime this. I'm sure they'll be the next two states to do it though. |
