My experience with black people has been pretty extensive in the past. More recently, I have lived in central Oregon, where there aren't many blacks. But the ones who do live here are no problem. Mostly retired professionals, like the rest of us. Last weekend, I picked up a black man who was running along the highway. Turns out he was running 29 miles each way to get back and forth to work! His company car had been totaled by an employee. Then, at work, he was moving furniture all day. He was also raising two kids, 7 and 9, who were at church camp. I was blown away by how hard-working he is. Doesn't seem fair that he should be lumped in with ghetto rats. It would be like saying that all whites are Walmart freaks.
Now, I guess, the name-calling begins. I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat. To me, there is the onerous 1% and all the rest of us. If we could unite against them, we might have a chance. But, turning the working class against each other only enables the rich to take advantage of us all. If you are going to despise anyone, despise them - the ones who poison our food, debase our money, get rich on the cancer industry, and profit from war.
