Summary:
1. Halal certifiers sought to duplicate the Kosher system of certification
—Muslims may not follow the earthly ways of “people of the book” therefore this practice is against the Koran.
2. The only foods that Allah said a Muslim must not eat (haram) is Pork, Blood, meat that has been strangled or slaughtered with a blunt knife.
3. Further the “food” must be wholesome and good as well as “halal”—the animals should have been treated well (not kept in cages etc) and with mercy. Therefore stunning is an acceptable practice and using non-Muslim slaughtermen.
3. The Koran states that Muslims can eat meat offered to other Gods. Muhammad even ate the meat of Jews without asking how is was killed.
5. It is forbidden for Imams to charge to certifiy food.
6. It is a misuse of the system to classify common sense products such as water, tooth picks and black pepper.

i've been here close to half a century and never seen one outside the tv. (the last one i saw on tv was screaming woe about the fact they cannot even start a political party )or halal thingy, or mosque , or burka. maybe theres a few in capitals, but theres more koshe , jewxs and synagogues than their islamic equivalent.

there is no islamic political party with any voter numbers capable of ever passing anything and the every one of them in country make up less than one percent of population, with less than half that number capable of voting.

the one you mention is an impotent non entity, it's not a party by any legl sense of the word, and never can be for a multitude of reasons you'll understand when you've been around a bit more.

hints . you can't start a political party in australia without the resources to govern. no 2 . religion cannot be the sole reason for a party. 3. the parties idealogy must be entirely democratic, no law of any religion is even valid to be examined by senate, let alone have the opposition pass it should all that be forgotten and a sitting muslim pm was in office .

even if they could do that , no islamic law would ever be able to be legalised , even if if they changed the constitution for the senate to examine it in the first place, it would have to be ratified by referendum.

a few people cant just replace a countries constitution because they wrote something on a bit of paper. nomatter what you've heard on the internet, it just doesn't work that way.

we are one of the only countries who dont recognise islamic underage, forced or arranged marriages performed outside this country, we prosecute them for it when they get here. the US doesn't do that, so thats where most of any luck finding legislation of sharia type religious laws will occur.

it's already up and running there in full swing , sharia court daily in texas if you believe some of the american members here at this site. personally i think theyre yanking our chains.

there is no islamic constition of australia, thats a pile of shit, and promoting it like its even theoretically possible is the height of either stupidity or muslim shillery. either way, this is the western country least likely on earth to ever host any foreign religious law.

You might want to look into the "organisation for islamic cooperation", CAIR, the "Islamic Movement" the "Muslim Brotherhood" just to help you start off.
