Well, no.

My own father took on my mother's two children and was the only father they ever had. He never made any distinction between me and them and gave them the same opportunities I was afforded.

My husband does the same for my son, although his father is involved. Yesterday, he told me he had no respect for his bio dad and all the things he learned about being a good man came from him.
