Debunking the myths of the advantages of capitalism

China is capitalist.

Despite the Pope's anti-capitalism statements, it was not the church that has so drastically improved the per-capita growth in GDP all over the world the last two centuries.

It was science and capitalism. Both come with their own baggage that needs some controlling, but both are profound engines of growth that have given the poor especially a much improved standard of living.

Now it is not a daily concern in China or India if there will be starvation, but rather whether or not people there can afford to buy a car.

Population growth and overuse of resources is a side-effect of greater wealth brought about by science and capitalism, but these concerns will be best addressed by more science and capitalism, not reverting to marxist dogma that has cost the lives of millions and milions of people in the 20th century.
