My flag has hung outside in distress since 07/03.

I get a LOT of slow-downs when people drive past.

Hell, half don't even know what it means or stands for.

I think we've been brainwashed into believing that freedom and liberty is all that matters. Of course we like freedom and liberty, but what of it? It's not like these qualities are in themselves virtuous.

We're being beaten up by our own pride and all we do is 'liberate' other countries and in return are called patriotic.

It's like a religion, and freedom and liberty has replaced God, but people can't turn to their govt. because Gods only purpose is to secure our freedom - nothing more. Anything more and that would be socialist, or communist, and that contradicts freedom and liberty.

Man is a social creature, we cooperate and congregate in communities to have better lives for ourselves. Where is freedom and liberty when we decide to pull together to survive, or just have better lives? They aren't a consideration - some things are just necessary.

We are distressed because we embrace a notion that freedom is the end-all of our destiny, when it was just a beginning. Now we run amok around the world 'liberating' all we can, and the only ones who prosper are the preachers of the freedom faith.
