Government Attempts to Ban Cash? (what’s most disturbing is why they’re doing it)
Recently, Louisiana became the latest state to attempt a massive ban on cash that would have resulted in making it illegal to use U.S. cash dollars in any secondhand transactions.

The law, called R.S. 37:1866, made it illegal to, say, go to a garage sale and buy a lawn mower with cash dollars. That’s right: It would have prohibited American citizens from using legal U.S. tender.

After an outcry by critics who called the law unconstitutional, Louisiana “amended” the bill to remove the widespread ban.

That law is from 2011

Still very shocking:

(2) The appropriate law enforcement official may, for purposes of an investigation of a crime relating to a particular secondhand transaction, request the secondhand dealer to mail or fax such official the personally identifiable information relating to such transaction under investigation. The secondhand dealer shall deliver the personally identifiable information relating to the identified transaction to the appropriate law enforcement official within twenty-four hours of the request.

B. The secondhand dealer shall have the responsibility of tendering the information provided for in Subsection A of this Section regardless of its use or nonuse by the chief of police in the city or town in which he is doing business or, alternatively, to the sheriff of the parish in which he is doing business. The tender of this information is a courtesy mandated by state law and which provides a benefit to the general public. The chief of police or sheriff shall not be mandated to take any particular action concerning the information tendered.

That law is not being enforced, as far as I can tell from all the garage sales and flea markets I see going on here in south Louisiana.

That would be Bobby Jindal's Louisiana. Once my childhood home, slipping further and further away from the Constitution.

Re: Government Attempts to Ban Cash? (what’s most disturbing is why they’re doing it)
from the article:
"However, rather than end the ban completely, the state government chose instead to narrow the focus, making it illegal to exchange cash dollars for gold or any precious metals. This, of course, brings to mind the 1930s when FDR banned the private ownership of gold by U.S. citizens.

And it comes at the tail end of a multiyear push to restrict cash use by American citizens.

Already the states of Florida, Texas, and New York have removed tollbooths from highways. Plenty more have installed cashless parking meters and banned cash at dumps and other local facilities.

In fact, when one man tried to pay his mortgage in cash at a Bank of America, he was arrested. A reporter from the Daily Kos (a liberal blog) was accused of “casing the bank” when he showed up to report on the story."

I was thinking the same thing, If this goes through they are just digging their own grave for the most part, but then of course they might just exempt themselves they are all above the laws they enforce.

That law seems to be in reference to "The Secondhand Dealer" - which would be a consignment, resale or pawn shop operating as a licensed business in the commerce of used goods and not (currently) related to the "average Joe" selling a mower at a yard sale.

That does not mean that "they" wouldn't use a law like this as a start to further cash usage limitations down the road...

Many - if not most times - these versions of retail "used goods" stores are dealing with stolen goods.

If you've ever had your stuff swiped and were not there to thank the thief with lead - you may appreciate this type of business rule.

The vendor would maintain a log of their "purchase of secondhand or used merchandise when the value of any single piece of merchandise or article received, or any single lot of used building components, shall be twenty-five dollars or more for each single transaction.....including serial numbers of said objects"

This record could also apply to scrappers who take a whole section of the local high schools stadium bleachers ($3000) to the local scrap yard for $40 in scrap value.

The fact that "The name, address, sex, race, height, weight, and driver's license number of the person or persons selling or delivering said merchandise or articles to the dealer shall be obtained and included with each ledger entry. Records of each purchase shall be preserved for a period of at least three years." ... and those daily logs must be sent to the "chief of police of the city or town or to the sheriff of the parish in which he is doing business, every day before the hour of twelve noon"

That's pretty specific and a lot of paperwork for the vendor.... almost makes you not want to have a business in this great place huh??......

wtf

It's common knowledge that the dollar isn't worth anything.

It only holds value that people agree it to hold. It isn't backed by anything, and printed on paper. It really is useless.

When they removed the gold standard, they introduced 'fake' money. Print as much as you want, when it isn't backed by anything but debt, who cares?!
The next step is to eliminate cash and go even further to electronic or digital currency. Just numbers in cyberspace.
You get paid via an electronic transfer, you just see your balance go up, then you purchase via a card with a chip - eventually becoming a chip in your hand "to protect you against identity fraud' is how it will be sold.

You will be working for nothing at this point. No goods or even anything that represents goods will be transferred. You become a slave to the bankers.
We know we already are slaves to the banks, the SSN (SIN in Canada) is our slave number. We are chattel owned by the banks, secured by the debt that the government has saddled us with.
Your ability to purchase your food will be regulated by the government. "We keep you alive to serve this ship. Row well, and live."

Hmmm, most with garage sales don't have a merchant account to take debt or credit card, I suppose you could accept a check but that might bounce or demand certified check but what a pain...I know, pay using gov mandatory chip that would be way easier ! I could go on but you get the picture right?

It's said to be for the benefit of toll booth workers' health.

The excuse for control often is health or children.

Obviously, SOME dumbass Louisiana congresssritter needs to be smacked with a cluestick!

Such a ban on cash, the original OR the new version, is TOTALLY illegal, and would get nuked by the US Supreme Court if not lower Courts.

Central Bankers trick folks. They want to make the entire world hostage. This way, when they take a country over like in Greece, people will not be allowed to take their own money out of the system. This way they avoid the collapse of the Jewish Usury Fractional Reserve Banking system. There were already two World Wars to maintain the Jewish Banking System. You think they won't give you a third World War to maintain the ponzi scheme? Now that they have taken over the world you think they will just give up and give it all away for free? lol be prepared, blood is coming.

They do everything through the generations, that's why the sheeple never see it. If they don't ban cash now they will do it later, trust me, drop by drop they will achieve everything they want because people don't think.

Off course, they will scream in the Media, "it's because of Terrorism, think of the babies".
