GOP begs Kochs to build wall to keep Trump out

Increasingly fearful that Donald Trump will soon become the frontrunner in the Republican race for the presidential nomination, the other GOP hopefuls are turning in desperation to the Koch brothers for help, imploring the wealthy benefactors of conservative causes to build a “Great Wall” around the party to keep Mr. Trump out.

“He may not be a rapist or a killer but he might as well be,” said Carly Fiorina, who is among 14 candidates currently running for the Republican nomination.

“We need your help to keep that self-important showboat off the debate stage,” Ms. Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive, wrote in an urgent plea to Charles and David Koch dated July 6. “We need to get that wall up before the Aug. 6 debate – preferably sooner. I know you are with us. I know that together, with your help, we can face up to this challenge and face down this egomaniac.”
