May I ask you a sincere, off topic question? It's about the the link to the informatoin about peppers' mucal thinning effect. I respect your insights and will check later to see if you reply (I have no paid account for now).

Do you know whether nations or cultures that eat more peppers have lower cancer rates? For example, I would think Mexico and India would have dramatically lower rates than, say, Sweden.

Yes, Mexico has 1/3 the rate of cancer as does the US. Thailand which is another country that eats a lot of hot peppers has 1/4th the rate of cancer.

India is lower, too, but that is a large country with a lot of different cultures so it would take a more granular look at various sections of the country.

Mexicans living in have lower cancer rates than whites in the US, but their rates are not as good as in their home country. I suspect our poorer diet and high alcohol consumption are factors.

I've gotten scratchy throats more than a few times that ended up being nothing an hour or so later..maybe I have a good immune system or maybe you're going to end up making people overly paranoid over scratchy throats.

Have you ever awakened in the middle of the night with a scratchy throat knowing you were going to be sick the next morning? Then this info is for YOU! That used to be my story two to three times a year. I'd be sick for 4-5 days. Maybe able to work but it still sucked.
