Regardless its a swirling toilet in deep space, we are so lucky to have it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69645957 You figure that picture shows a flat Earth? How do you account for the lack of Europe, Asia and Africa? I dont, as far as I am concerned its all a lie, literally everything is fake at this point. I wouldnt recgonize truth unless it was shot on the Zapruder camera in Dilley Plaza. |

Correct, fascinating but how many pictures of Earth do we need to see? Waste of resources and time, try aiming their fancy cameras at the moons of Saturn or Pluto, anything else but another picture of Earth. |

Spinning at 1000 and when I jump I'm still in the same place Or if I take a flight to NYC from LA it should be faster since while in the air NYC is located on the spinning ball below which should be spinning towords me making my flight shorter...but the flight times from NYC and LAX are on average the same...? NASA is a money pit that feeds off people that effectively shut off their critical thinking.. It's called conservation of momentum. Same reason you can jump on a train travelling 100mph and not go slamming into the wall behind you. Whatever supposedly took this "photo" is not traveling along with the 1000 mph earth. No, it's at the Lagrangian point between the Sun and the Earth. What's your point. The point is that the argument given, that one can jump up and down on a moving train and remain in the same spot would not be true if one were some distance (say one million miles from a giant object like the earth) and looking at it spinning 1000 mph. The camera is stable and the object being photographed is spinning at 1000 miles an hour. Do you think the camera is spinning along with the earth at a million miles away? sees |

Yes, the Earth's rotational speed is very fast, but it's also very large. The Earth takes 24 hours to complete one revolution, so any features on one side of the image would take 12 hours to reach the other side, which isn't very fast at all and nowhere near enough to cause motion blur. It's not like the Earth spins like a basketball on someone's finger, completing multiple revolutions a second. The 'jumping on a train' analogy was in answer to the guy who didn't believe the Earth rotates at all because if he jumps he lands in the same place. |

This was taken at like 1,000,000 miles. That's 937000 miles to the nearest satellites. "All that is necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing." Because when you jump you should magically lose all the velocity you had when you were on the ground? If you were on a train and jumped should you fly toward the back? Or if I take a flight to NYC from LA it should be faster since while in the air NYC is located on the spinning ball below which should be spinning towords me making my flight shorter...but the flight times from NYC and LAX are on average the same...? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 40334951 Its cute that you blame NASA for your misunderstanding when it has been known the Earth spins long before they ever existed. |

Clearly fake. Really?? What the fucking houses on Earth have to do with satellites in orbit, tens of thousands of kilometers away? Satellites are about the size of cars or smaller and the total area they orbit in is far larger than the surface of the Earth. Why would you expect to be able to see them? |

Right after sites like this one make a big stink about the only circulated photo of the earth being from over 40 years ago! Seriously, just last month I was reading a thread that was begging for posters to find any other "real" photo in a google search. And now they're like, BOOM, here ya go! New "real" pic of earth from a million miles away. Sha right! |
