Already struggling to reverse a long-term decline in membership, the Boy Scouts have been increasingly consumed over the last two decades by battles over the exclusion of gay people that threatened to fracture the organization. Older scout people have already pretty openly claimed that the scouts are over; its just some financial entity at this point that is doing whatever political pressure directs it to do -- basically advising people to not enrol in it any longer.

I pulled my daughters out of the Girl Scouts years ago, when Planned Parenthood stepped in to "educate" them. I put them into an alternative scout program at a local Christian Church.

Alternative programs, I like this. I was in special ed for 10 years and have a lot of knowledge about the outdoors, safety, and nature. I say myself and others like me should step up and teach. Thank you for these great opinions.
