Can you give it another 6 months? you've waited this long anyway and it may feel depressing at times to see the price of silver at such low levels. I will tell you this though: The silvertards are going to experience a silver joy in 2 months or less but in 6 months, their emotions will switch to Ectasy! Not kidding either.

Been buying my silver since the late 70s but I stop when it goes over $20 and start every time it drops below $20, it actually cost $14/oz on average to mine silver across the board and it is a consumable metal as well as a PM. So get your crayons out and figure it out. Also ALL currencies fail and if you do not understand why then you are just cannon fodder.

Re: I'm down 50% on my silver...
The interest rates WILL go up. The dollar value WILL inflate. Remember, the great depression took nearly 20 years to restore the actual value of the currency before the crash, and the inflation since then has been astronomical for almost 70 years.

Silver now will be great 20 years from now. 30 will look like chump change, maybe even 5 years from now when the interest rates start rising and inflation really hits.

We're either going to get inflation from supply pumped by the fed soon, or from interest rate rise that pumps the number of investments to gain interest that will increase supply.

Re: I'm down 50% on my silver...
Now that the Gold Bugs and Silver Tards have "taken it in the shorts" it is finally the time to start sniffing around both Silver and Gold.

One NEVER wants to buy into a declining market since one can never be sure how far it will fall so it is TOO EARLY to actually be buying (doesn't make any difference in the long run if you miss the first 15% of the rise, if that is how long it takes to be sure that a solid bottom has been made and a real turn has occured ... that is peanuts as to what the long term run will be).

With the Chinese economy continuing to slow down precious metals should CONTINUE TO DECLINE, and some of the declines could be precipitous as holders are FORCED to sell because they cross collateralized business and STOCK loans with their precious metal holdings. .

When will the bottom be hit and at what price? I don't know, but right now buying silver/gold is like trying to catch falling knives.

I tried to buy at this new low and my dealer wouldn't sell below $22

I'm sitting on 2 pounds of silver, that I've taken a loss on for now, but I have no intention of selling.

It's for a rainy SHTF, day thing, not an investment.

It always goes back up.

My guess is that the market is being manipulated so the 1% can gobble it up at such a low price.

OP- You're a moron for believing precious metals are a short-term investment. They are meant to protect your assets in a crisis (like the one coming up in September)

If you continue to hold your silver through the end of the year, you'll see "return"

Would OP be here whining if he locked up $40,000 of capital on a new pickup that lost $5000 from MSRP as soon as he drove it off the lot?
