I have trouble believing that profits from rights to PERSONAL stories would go to a government agency.

Most of the astronauts were military personal who just got military pay, IOW not a whole lot.  Check your quotes. I agree with you. that's why I was asking the Korean AC for a citation for his obviously bogus statement.
