We are not the only country that has astronomers or people that watch the skies. Information, from the internet, could be communicated to the masses and collaborated.

The only blind eye we have is looking on the far side of the sun and smaller incoming meteorites. These smaller meteorites will not do Global damage. Even if a big one was spotted coming around the sun, it has to be in the ecliptic plane and heading at the precise coordinates to strike earth. There are just too many variables for this to happen. It could, but the percentage of a strike is very low...

The Pope coming here is to spread discourse. He will condemn the Catholic church for not embracing Sodomy/Homosexuality and twist the Bibles meaning of marriage...

but my problem is this, do they announce the big incoming oblect which they notice lets say 2 years in advance and follow it ? and if they will announce about it (which i doubt) when will they talk about it? And for what purpose? If they cant destroy or move it or whatever, why would they make such an announcement and especially 2 years before it hits?
And though the amateur astronomers will probably talk about it in public, lets say in the internet, when will they see it first time? As for the professionals, they may have a code on such a case and sign papers no to talk about it so there is no panic in advance?

The earth has been hit in the past with massive asteroids and it will happen again sometime in the future whether you like that fact or not. Just because we are human doesn't mean we are special and get a pass from ever being hit by a massive asteroid just because we imagine our gods said so. We have normalcy bias at work here that can't possibly fathom ever being hit with such a thing in our life time.
