Fukushima. Key Operation finished | |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 69938640 Japan 08/02/2015 12:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | FUKUSHIMA, August 2 - After months of careful preparation, workers at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station today successfully completed removal of the largest and most complex piece of rubble from the severely damaged Unit 3 reactor building: the facility's fuel handling machine (FHM). The 20-ton FHM was securely lifted from the spent fuel pool and safely brought down on to the ground using two 600-ton cranes with a special hook or clamps. When the Unit was operating prior to the March 2011 accident, the FHM was used to move nuclear fuel assemblies within the reactor building, move them into the reactor core, and move spent fuel assemblies from the reactor to the spent fuel storage pool. But along with the rest of the building, the FHM was severely damaged in the accident, and had to be carefully removed without causing further damage to the spent fuel pool or to the fuel assemblies within it. I am able to provide Evidence of decreasing Levels, we are now at ca. 0.065-0.080 mcSv/ Hour on the Ground and ca. 25% less at Chest-height! No you simply imply that today was a great success due to your genius staff removing a single crane from a damaged structure nearly half a decade after it fell. Didn't get the memo on the death from the guy near reactor 1 last week either. So ya know. Pardon my myopticism |

BRIEF User ID: 65696907 United States 08/05/2015 03:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Tokyo Electric Power Co. succeeded Sunday in safely removing a massive piece of debris weighing roughly 20 tons from the fuel pool of the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant’s damaged reactor 3 building, the utility said. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69938640 The operation was considered a major step toward removing the 566 fuel rod assemblies that have remained in the pool since the triple meltdown at the Fukushima plant in March 2011. Tepco is aiming to remove all of the still-hot fuel assemblies in the No. 3 pool by the end of March 2018. [link to www.japantimes.co.jp] Tepco is very successful in the last 4 Years As I said! LOL, success would have been burying the whole sight in sand before the end of the first month of the meltdown. I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

No, u are wrong- as usual The Success was already to stabilize Fukushima Daini (the Sisterplant) and Reactor 5 & 6, the Success continued with the Reestablishment of the Cooling. Spent Fuel Pool Nr.4 was cleaned up in 2014. Tepco spend already more than 3.000.000 (3 Mio) Man Hours in FDNPS. They installled more than 500 Km of Cabels, they build 7 new Buildings for the Decontamination and they run 4 different Water Cleaning Systems and now the Ice Wall start to work too! Etc.!
