HA-HA OP you're describing every woman in the business of show.I used to be a professional dancer,production,chorus line stuff;I was required to wear the crap for PERFORMANCE and I always hated it,felt like my face was suffocating with the pancake makeup,eyeliner,eye shadow,mascara,false eye lashes,blush- I would think- OMG,break my face out of cosmetic prison! I got in trouble once when I ditched the face crap and blush and consequently from the audience I looked like a big eyed dancing corpse!!

You are so right.After I left the business(couldn't handle the phoniness,bullshit, and egos) I never wore that crap again. I've always had a what you see is what you get philosophy. I've never understood why women wear so much 'makeup' I think it's hideous-also for another discussion,but the insane freaky cosmetic surgeries. A lot of Latino, black,and Southern women seem to love the crap on the face,women in politics .and so on It would cause heart failure I'm sure to see the naked truth of many at the breakfast table.

I wear makeup and have since a teen and I wear it because I still suffer with acne. I want to quit the makeup but the problem is everyone is so used to seeing me with it on that when I turn up without it everyone thinks im severly ill (especially guys)

Lots of women, who can get away with makeup, or men, who have acne or scars, (the non famous variety), do so in order not to scare kids and shine joy. Not talking about stage makeup, or the Asian makeovers that often involve plastic surgery and even bone carving.

So just shove it.

I myself sometimes add a bit of color to my eyes, but 99% of the time, just mascara, as my lashes are faded.

One of the things you don't even get is the way women are. They're creative, love beauty, give to others, have compassion, and many really low self esteem. They need a mask or shell, for one thing, like a turtle, to protect their inner cores from being walked on by predators.

And they need to be uplifted.

Woman are romantic, idealistic, compassionate, wear the whole world on their shoulders, givers to children and those in need, and have fragile shells.

All the misogynistic controlling threads, if you ever even see the word "woman" in them, or women are like this or that, are usually from SHARIA creeps.

Think of it like painting the walls of your living room its kind of like that. Of course you could just put up with the brown plaster but why would you.

Disclaimer I wear very little makeup but I do work for a plastic surgeon.

I see what OP is talking about but think it's way too broad of a generalization.

I've seen women get surgery for all the wrong reasons but I've also seen miraculous transformations too. The kind where their whole soul changes for the better when they feel better about themselves and valuable. Not in a vapid, self centered way either.

I think the reasons for makeup are as broad as the reasons why people read a book. Get over yourself already.

Well you could say that about wearing a nice outfit for example to make a good impression. Say you went to a meeting in a tracksuit in comparison to wearing a suit. You would get treated a lot differently wearing a suit than wearing a tracksuit. People judge on appearences it is harsh but it is true and the way it is with men and women.

Try it just go about your normal day one day wearing a suit and tie and see the differece in the way that people treat you, nothing has changed at all on the inside. The only thing different is the appearence on the outside and the change in the way people treat you.

By wearing makeup im not being someone I'm not im being exactly the same person as I am when I have just rolled out of bed, the only difference being my appearence on the outside.
