Update: Finally Added the pics I took. Not as many as I would have liked. Next time I will have to be much more vigilant with the camera. Any new material in this thread will be in this color.

All in all I had a pretty successful go of the combine. I managed to have fun, eat some felonious combinations while staying on track for a good amount of time. My general health improved and I was able to do some of my fun athletic stuff like go on 16 mile bike rides down rock canyon trails and hone my tai chi.

I also went from about 205lbs to about 170lbs in a very natural and healthy way. I am gearing up to go all the way so stay with me as I continue to record my journey hoping that others will find the beauty in this knowledge.

One of my first threads is about one of the best things I have learned in all of my researches.


How to eat right. I did this by mostly following Herbert Shelton's Food Combining Made Easy.

I had faith in his methods and applied them in pragmatic ways but I also layered Organic and NONGMO as well as unprocessed to try to match what Shelton was doing in the 30's onward.

What Happened to Eden?


Imagine a world filled with free food, perfect health and good natured, law abiding citizens. No laws are needed because the human inhabitants of this world lack the scourge of inappropriate desire. Lacking inappropriate desire, people exhibit unselfish, indiscriminate virtue. Such a world, dubbed the Garden of Eden exists in the book of Genesis of The Holy Bible. Interestingly, accounts of this world also exist in The Analects given by Confucius as well as ancient Daoist traditions. All three of these, essentially historical or even simply ideological accounts arrive at the same conclusion. At some point during the course of the existence of Eden, something happens and humankind starts to inherit a world filled with greed, selfish desire, and man-made laws that cannot, it seems, remain unbroken.

In modern times, a little known movement, dubbed the Natural Hygiene Movement, proposes that the ideals of an Eden like existence have not completely fallen away from humanity. Rather, through proper and disciplined choices, based on the scientific research undertaken by medical doctors, all of humanity contains the ingredients necessary to regress back to an Eden-like existence.

In his classic book, Food Combining Made Easy, Herbert M. Shelton takes up a mere sixty-three pages of a reader’s time to expound on the essential dietary choices which contain the power to awaken Eden in all of humanity.

First published in 1940, Food Combining Made Easy remains available to today’s reader. Mainly a practical guide to eating, this volume does touch on the need to balance emotional and physical aspects of a person. For a person capable of following a few simple rules, however, this little book provides strict guidelines that go beyond simply eating those vegetables that a lot of mothers and doctors have given up attempting to facilitate. Compared to modern societal staples of fast food, junk (processed) food and more food – this little book seems stricter than ten pairs of helicopter parents put together.

The most fundamental aspect of these rules is that they are based on digestion. Medical Doctors in the 1800’s conducted, live, practical research on digestion. The rules then are a product of their findings along with Shelton’s own experiences and those of the people he treated. It is worth mentioning that in his lifetime, Shelton was jailed several times during his life for practicing medicine without a license. In 1921 he graduated from the American School of Naturopathy with a Doctor of Naturopathy (ND) and a Doctor of Naturopathic Literature (ND Lit). He published over forty books and ran several sanitariums across the country. Still, he was plagued with legal battles as the establishment was and still is critical of
his views.

The rules that are put forth in Food Combining Made Easy are simple, but they do fly in the face of what is considered American cuisine today. There are many stakeholders present that would contest any truth that these rules may or may not contain. These stakeholders can be summarized within the groups of for profit industries as well as the individual desires of appetite. Basically everyone is a stakeholder in the current notions of how one should eat and remains one of the most difficult notions to deconstruct, both personally and collectively. Based on my own self knowledge and personal experiments, I posit that this has been the case since the beginnings of civilization. In relation to the Garden of Eden, my idea is essentially that the Fruit from the Tree of Knowledge actually represents the beginning of processing foodstuffs and combining them in unnatural ways in human history. Perhaps there never was a time when all people on this planet ate natural diets. Nonetheless, one thing I do know for certain through my own experience is that the practical implementation of the natural diet put forth by Shelton in Food Combining Made Easy, practiced over time (two or more days) brought an Eden-like existence directly into my personal viewfinder.

Following are the basic rules, organized in the three-meals-a-day schema of daily sustenance that most world citizens desire to enjoy today. These are purposely abridged; something that is a keystone to harnessing the potential of this information is to take that personal step forward and discover for yourself how this information can be used and what further information you might need to further your own understanding. For starters though, you might try these rules for a day as a personal gauge. After all, what is one day without a sandwich and all of its manifestations that tend to be the very definition of American Cuisine (i.e. burgers, pizza, burritos, chow mien, spaghetti etc.).

Breakfast – Eat fruit. Fresh fruit is a natural combination of vitamins, nutrients and simple sugars that will provide a quick and lasting boost of energy nicely regarded at the beginning of the day. Watch out for fruitful combinations that put acids and bases together. For Instance, Apples and oranges do not combine as well as oranges and strawberries. For evidence of this, try combining baking soda and orange juice in a container without entertaining a naturally energetic reaction.

Lunch – Eat starchy vegetables such as squash, potatoes and/or whole grains with vegetable salad. The complex carbohydrates in these types of vegetables will sustain your energy levels for the rest of the day while naturally providing vitamins and minerals. Leafy greens are the backbone of a vegetable salad but other examples exist as well. Watch out for processed carbohydrates as most of the nutrients have been leached from the flours during the processing. Attempts to add vitamins and nutrients to processed food would not need to occur if the food was not processed. In essence, keep it natural.

Dinner – Choose a single protein source and eat this with vegetable salad. Meaty proteins are all flesh, so there is not a problem combining different meats. However, cheese is a separate type of protein from meat and do not combine well. Similarly, natural proteins are found in a variety of foods that are grown that should be kept to a single source of protein (i.e. nuts, chickpeas etc.). Proteins at the end of the day help facilitate the natural healing process as these materials are largely what the body uses to repair itself. Separated from the starches, the body is able to utilize the individual nutrients most efficiently and effectively.

Water – Do not drink water with a meal. This washes away the digestive enzymes needed to properly digest the food. Drink water at least ten minutes before a meal and after enough time has passed for the meal to be digested.

Cheating – When cross-combining does occur, Shelton recommends skipping a meal to allow the body time to digest the food properly.

In his landmark book, Food Combining Made Easy, Shelton provides a definition of eating that largely escapes civilized minds today. Are his rules a road map to Eden? Was there ever an Eden or a Golden Age like those described in the literatures that survive from the past into the present? Can we as individuals transform ourselves, thereby providing a guiding light for the rest of humanity by the disciplined application of this definition of eating? Doesn’t it make sense that at the root of any type of change we desire to make for ourselves, in our lives, lays the very stuff that we put into our bodies? The historical question may never be answered but the others, by my own personal assessment are rhetorical. End of review.

08/06/2015 Water, water with shilajit, 2organic oranges, 2hr. water, 2hr. Hot Green Tea w/ lemon, Vegatable Delight i.e. a cub of steamed rice and a scoop of mixed vegies (carrots, broccoli, in a lighly salted sauce from Dragon restaurant, not my ideal but good enough for out and about food). 5.5hr., water, .5 hr., Grilled Salmon, 3hr., water with Effer C.

That sounds rather complicated. I started my new diet today too. It consists of espresso to speed up metabolism and brown rice and cheddar/butter, to stabilize blood sugar. I'll let you know how it goes.

I also had a baked potato with lots of butter for breakfast, that spiked my blood sugar, so if I do it again, it will be night time.

My other tips are use Stevia instead of sugar. DO NOT eat foods with corn syrup in them. Cook for yourself.

Stir fries are good like ground pork with onions and cabbage, super easy and you don't even need to have carbs or you can have brown rice if you want.

I personally feel fats are good such as REAL butter, and eggs, and bacon. I guess that would lean more towards an Atkins theory.

Butter with proteins is too complicated but Oils like cold pressed hemp seed oil (no thc can be bought at health food store and is cheapter that flax seed oil or fish oils.)

But that Hemp Seed oil eatean at the same time ( I would not mix them together just take the oil in spoon fulls) and then some spoons of good quality cottage cheese and you got a power lunch right there. Do not wash it down with anything for 4 hours.

yea and its a crazy feeling when the meat and veggies activates in the body like cleansing. Definitely a good piece of the puzzle. Shelton only ate meat once a week but I usually eat meat once a day on my Food Combine, sometimes I go dairy or vegan.

One topic worth covering here is spices and seasonings or what I would prefer to think of as herbal range over food.

By herbal range I mean just the stuff that typically makes spices and seasonings tick ---> Herbs

Okay first unless for medicine, survival, cultural or just casual purposes throw out Pepper, onion, garlic.

Pepper: Where I am from the Green Chile, which is a pepper, is huge in fact we are world famous for the Green Chile. I am going to eat Green Chile for the rest of my life but not every day. The reason is because I know that the chili pepper has capsacian which the body rejects.

I find that strong dose of capsacian can be helpful when I have a cold because it will allow the sinus some relief.

Bell Peppers have much less capsacian but I have actually run across some purple ones with more than normal ---> They were fucking delicious.

When the body rejects capsaican it goes out through the pours in the skin. How this changes the mental condition can vary for me. I have had times where this feeling leads to unease and an eventual surrender to felonious combinations. Also I have been able to stay on track and adjust mentally accordingly simply recognizing that changes in the body will occur and when dealing with good hot chilis you just are not allowed to bitch about messy shits you get. Pooping is a very big part of all this but will be discussed in a later chapter once some of these other subjects have had a chance to metriculate.

Garlic: People swear by this stuff to lower blood sugar and blood pressure. Probably because it opens up the pours when our body rejects the allium / similar to onion.

There are Eastern traditions that avoid garlic because they cause sexual desire or lead to impurity and disease.

No wonder our NWO agencies are making sure there is Garlic, onion and pepper in every prepared product. You'd be mad if they put salt peeeter in everything for a reason. We gotta control our own supply as much as possible or you are not even on the front lines here.

One of the influences of this thread as well as life the path that I b on is that I started my food combine.

Onions, mY food combine does not include onions.

Onions are good except for 1 thing that our body rejects.


The thing is is that onions are everywhere in almost all processed foods. . .. Even a lot of the soup recipes from organic producers you get organic onions.

Well after not eating onions for a couple of days : I can smell onions on people that eat onion. Its frankly a turn off. And a lot of people who eat onions go around smelling like onions and so like each other because onions are in everything.

I still would eat an onion , the chemical kept the gilla lizards at bay in the movie Holes with Siquorney Weaver.

Onion pulled right out of the ground is delicious.

Per my food combine I am to avoid it if possible.

yes I am sure someday I will. My goal is to go for about 3 months. I went Two months about 5 years ago. All the way back to 0. I was my high school weight again. This time I want to go back to 0 and build on that for a bit.

08/09/2015 Water, organic grapes, goji berries, shizandera berries, 3hr., water with effer'C, Stuffed Bell Pepper, stuffed with Rice spiced with green chile and green chile poppers and plate drizzled with Agave, *Complex factor of 2*, 4hr., water, cashews, pistachios, almonds, chia seeds, hemp seed oil, 4hr., water, flavored water, club soda, water.

My Food Combine avoids pepper. Peppers are good except one thing that the body rejects. I like pepper. the thing I have to watch out for when I eat pepper and chili pepper is that my cravings to do a bad combination like pizza or something.

I also consider it a compication when different types of starches are being consumed. Adding the Agave, a simple starch on top of rice can cause a stomache ache.

In that dish I was able to roam a little bit from the principles of the diets, but I made a unique gourmet dish that was very tasty. The secrets to many great flavors hide in My food combine and it is worth it to stray sometimes to experience something new.

Fortunately, I have continued to stay on my Food Combine. I was so tempted to eat ice cream or pizza last night.

These choices I am making are geared towards simplified dieting. Over the long view of human history food is more sparse and our diets are naturally adjusted to eating just a couple of things at a time.


Protein is digested one enzyme at a time. Multiple proteins complicate the process allowing fermentation to occur in the stomach.

But it can be used as energy and is a rational response to the difficult times of The dust bowl era of the Great Drpression.

People who are inactive get obese eating these complicated cheap substitutes for American cuisine that exist in the corporate stronghold that has become the food industry.

Turnips for two weeks is probably better for the human body than McDonald's Double Cheese burgers for two weeks.


That is why today I fear it is much worse and much more controlling even though it seems like more.

How to eat right. I did this by mostly following Herbert Shelton's Food Combining Made Easy.

I had faith in his methods and applied them in pragmatic ways but I also layered Organic and NONGMO as well as unprocessed to try to match what Shelton was doing in the 30's onward.
