Personally, I have had issues with removing KB3045999, my Acer laptop gets stuck on the reboot after uninstalling it.

I had to resort too turning off the laptop, but when I restrted it again the update does appear to have uninstalled.

when you update windows, your machine is searched for the downloads that are not there yet.

windows servers then download the content, and depending on your settings install them automatically

windows 10 is now updated to many systems as a download

whether you want it or not, your system WILL upgrade to windows 10.

if you want your system (win 7/8) etc to stay the same? the open fix that i made, will delete these automatic update files, leaving your system to remain the same.

that would be a problem with the windows uninstall, i had someone else tell me that but their system recovered as you say...

the batch file ONLY does all the keystrokes for you saving you time from the command prompt. hence a "batch" file.

I know; they're so tiny but so powerful.

i used to run entire networks based on them.

a new computer could be spotted and set up to speck when found on the network in under an hour.

a new users computer could be modified when logod on to be systems compatible with all the right software in a bout half an hour

and each department was beautifully it's own

all scripted with the help of active directory and user groups ;)

While the inital reflex may be to block all of the above servers via HOSTS, it turns out this won't work: Microsoft has taken the care to hardcode certain IPs, meaning that there is no DNS lookup and no HOSTS consultation. However, if the above servers are blocked via HOSTS, Windows will pretend to be crippled by continuously throwing errors, while still maintaining data collection in the background. Other than an increase in errors, HOSTS blocking did not affect the volume, frequency, or rate of data being transmitted.

it's a can of worms, and i wrote it as open source so people could see what they were doing... if they looked they would have seen the lack of caps was throwing the error...

those last five i did a cut and paste when i found them without checking (oops)

I've uninstalled these updates but I used an elevated command prompt(admin priv) but I've read

This must be done from an Admin Power Shell prompt for it to actually work.

Is this true and what is the difference?

The ones I had uninstalled it appears.

I'd be willing to reinstall them and uninstall using an Admin power shell if I must
