DoNotSpy10, Windows 10
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69988078

Does DoNotSpy10 take care of the bandwith usage that people are complaining about. I heard they use every ones internet connection like a torrent to send the updates to other computers.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 642731

That is easy to turn off without the use of some shady 3rd party app.

Why do people still use Windows?

That is what I will never understand.

Many thanks for that.

Just one question, isn't there supposed to be a colon between the KB and the number part, on every line?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16570123

or no colon on every line
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68653707

yes... in the sense your are talking about, the colon is superfluous

in coding terms, it is required as a unique code command identifier (kind of like spelling); or, it could be argued as a remnant artifact (coders will know what i'm talking about)... for this purpose, it is irrelevant ;)

Cheers!!

Just to let others know:

Personally, I have had issues with removing KB3045999, my Acer laptop gets stuck on the reboot after uninstalling it.

I had to resort too turning off the laptop, but when I restrted it again the update does appear to have uninstalled.

no probs

when you update windows, your machine is searched for the downloads that are not there yet.

windows servers then download the content, and depending on your settings install them automatically

windows 10 is now updated to many systems as a download

whether you want it or not, your system WILL upgrade to windows 10.

if you want your system (win 7/8) etc to stay the same? the open fix that i made, will delete these automatic update files, leaving your system to remain the same.

ps: to the dick who gave me red saying i was a pretend coder?

up yer bum.. i do code, but this is not a coding example.

it is an open batch file, that you can see before you run it. additionally, it should allow people to add any other update that comes along and re-run the file.

if i was to make it an exe file, do you think people would trust it?.....

Just a note: Windows 10 is really good...and all previous version of windows can spy on you as well.....in fact if any government body wants to spy on you they can and will.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69979150

Yes, it went downhill since XP. Vista managed. After that it sucked. RAM hog, CPU hog.

Now 10 is purring!!! About time.

On a side note... could detect the delay typing into youtube... suspect MS keylogger at work.

Seems better after installing DoNotSpy.

yeah, i've downloaded that for use as well
 Quoting: Citizenperth

DoNotSpy appears to be detected as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) / Potentially Unsafe Application (PUA) most likely because it includes OpenCandy.

What does OpenCandy collect from your computer? [link to opencandy.com]

I ran it twice. It blue screened my computer. It recovered, but still...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68717544

that would be a problem with the windows uninstall, i had someone else tell me that but their system recovered as you say...

the batch file ONLY does all the keystrokes for you saving you time from the command prompt. hence a "batch" file.

maybe i should make it into an exe with a donate button

and a big FU windows 10 splash screen

chuckle

just kidding...

the point in leaving it open code and simple batch was that you could see what it was doing without frigging with anything else ;)

i used to run entire networks based on them.

a new computer could be spotted and set up to speck when found on the network in under an hour.

a new users computer could be modified when logod on to be systems compatible with all the right software in a bout half an hour

and each department was beautifully it's own

all scripted with the help of active directory and user groups ;)

*sigh*

That's good, but you need to be aware of this:

Other concerns

While the inital reflex may be to block all of the above servers via HOSTS, it turns out this won't work: Microsoft has taken the care to hardcode certain IPs, meaning that there is no DNS lookup and no HOSTS consultation. However, if the above servers are blocked via HOSTS, Windows will pretend to be crippled by continuously throwing errors, while still maintaining data collection in the background. Other than an increase in errors, HOSTS blocking did not affect the volume, frequency, or rate of data being transmitted.

OK I made this so you don't have to fuck around in windows update for an hour....

It is only a batch file that saves you doing all the typing... that's all it does... auto-typing from the command prompt/

this takes 2 minutes... and about 2 minutes to run, and destroy windows 10 auto-updater ;)

Just follow the points in the instructions ;)

NOTE: **** The updates included below are ONLY for the windows 10 prep install. It does NOT affect any other updates or your system in general ****

***** I have tested it on about 5 systems ****

***** The updates were those identified by independent experts as the win 10 updates ***

***** Use at your own risk ****

Make your own uninstaller:

it's a can of worms, and i wrote it as open source so people could see what they were doing... if they looked they would have seen the lack of caps was throwing the error...

those last five i did a cut and paste when i found them without checking (oops)

but again, thanks, i'll fix them...

there will be others that will be collected as they arrive...

Re: WRITE YOUR OWN auto WINDOWS 10 updater - Killer... 2 Minutes for anyone! be a super geek!
I've uninstalled these updates but I used an elevated command prompt(admin priv) but I've read

This must be done from an Admin Power Shell prompt for it to actually work.

Is this true and what is the difference?

The ones I had uninstalled it appears.

I'd be willing to reinstall them and uninstall using an Admin power shell if I must

*Power shell is in "%windir%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\"
