Would you attend a 25th high school reunion?

My 20 is in a few weeks. Can't make it back as I don't live in the US anymore. The way I see it is fuck 'em. Why should I be concerned about people I knew for 4 years a long time ago.

I can't make myself do it. Anyway, thanks to fedbook, I'm already in touch with the best people from back then.

i didn't go to my 10th or my 20th, so i would have to say meh to that one too.

Why bother? Most people have moved on by then..

I still keep in touch with some on Facebook.. But actually go to a reunion? Meh... No.

Mine is a year from now and I just cant do it. I know some people have sought me out and that's touching, but I just cant do it.

My 25th was last year. I don't remember many of those people and hs was only 3 years for me. Not sure why people care so much about reunions unless they have some sort of insecurity and feel the need to show up to say "look at me". Plus after reuniting with a few on Facebook, I realized I would not be missing much as most of them are fat (women), bald/beer belly (guys) and divorced and they all still seem to like to gossip about everyone else from hs. Its like a desperate attempt at one more chance with the person you may have had a crush on and to show people how great your life turned out. There was only one person I cared to find from hs buy they are literally off the grid.

My ccollege reunion - that's an entirely different story, I love reuniting with my friends from college and do so as often as I can.

I went to the ten year, but not the 20. I no longer give a fuck about those people.

I didn't go to the 30th either.

I did see some photos people posted (a hs friend who did attend) and they did not look that great after 25 years...lol I did get a laugh over that since so many thought they were the shit back in the day.

I just know there will be so many aholes and I will leave after an hour. not worth it.

Most people attend reunions for one reason. And those are people you usually don't want to mother with.

Meh, just get in touch with those who you have fond memories with. A short phone call is enough to let them know the impact they made.

Would never spend money on flight and hotel to see idiots from hs. I'll never understand why people do.

Exactly. I keep in touch with only 4 people from hs. 2 are not even on Facebook. We've kept in touch since hs, so we've never been out of each other's lives.

High School? I put away childish things.

I have one coming up and I'm wondering the same. My life is so much better than the ghetto I was raised in. The goody-goods from high school all turned out to still live in the ghetto & are fat. And all the normal nerds kids, left and haven't looked back. I have a world of things to say haha to, but I don't want all the, OMG you turned out so much better than all of us (now fat cow) x-cheerleaders thought you would be....so as much as I'd like to make them reconcile their hopes & dreams were devastated because of their lousy choices....I can't take any pride in going.

Ha ha...me too. I look way better than I did in hs. I got a great spouse. We're rich beyond any expectations (I was poor in hs) and we have a great life. Yet I feel no need to show up and make small talk for 3 hours and talk about how great our kids are. Its like I know how good I've got it, why jinx it. Plus I think the people that love organizing and attending are just busy bodies with no life. They have some sort of void that can only be filled by knowing what so and so is doing and who they are married to and what their kids are doing, etc. Its like a competition, only everyone is old and fat. To be honest, I find it depressing, especially since so many from my hs are divorced.

Not sure what you're referring to. I certainly don't wish death upon any of them.

I'm not going to my 10th reunion in 2 years. I would rather take a vacation on West Florissant Avenue in Ferguson than go back to those days. The only thing i miss about K through 12 is snow days and not having to pay taxes.
