Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 70020550 Canada 08/11/2015 10:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | he was around 27 yrs. old give or take a year ? in peterborough ontario he was working for a company that made conveyor belts & they sent him up to work for 2 weeks&put him in a motel. I worked for the company that had the conveyor tables in peterborough & he didnt know anyone in the area cause he was from florida so he didnt have nothing to do on the weekend or know where to go or what to do. so I invited the guy over to my place for a weekend BBQ. seemed like a decent guy - I asked him if he liked beer & he said yes he loves beers & drinks in florida all the time. I gave him 2 canadian labatts beers & he fell flat on his face. true story. the next day he asked me what I put in the beer. I said noting dude. thats just regular canadian beer. Beer was Labatts Crystal. delicious stuff when its cold. and just for the record I didnt leave the dude flat on his face. I picked him up & set him on a nice reclining lawn chair by the pool. I couldnt figure out why he passed out so quick. I normally drink 8 of them easily. sometimes more I just figured the guy was overly tired or something. but then again maybe the beer in florida is just weak & watery ?? |

I have tasted some fantastic lagers and ales from American micro-breweries that rivals Belgian and Irish brew. The problem with the majority of both Canadian and American drinkers is that most don't even know what beer is supposed to taste like. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69455713 I had this Belgian sounding beer at a bar once. I forget what the actual name was, but I think it was Grimbergen or something like that. Had something like 8.5 or 9% alcohol content. Awesome beer IMHO. |

Of course it would be bad. If you want the good stuff you gotta import it directly from the brewery. You should try "grimbergen". Smooth as fuck and stronger than an ox. I won't try no wimpy 4% beers after drinking that stuff. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1288758 United States 08/11/2015 11:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A lot of stupid comments in this thread. American beer is the best in the world. We have thousands of different breweries that are innovating the craft. The selection and style of beer available are unmatched anywhere in the world. The ignorant foreigners only believe we have Budweiser, Coors and Miller because that is all that is exported. Hell, just in my town a brewery called Urban Chestnut brews German style beers better than anything I've had out of Germany. The only Canadian Brewery that can compete with American beer is Unibroue and they focus on Belgian styles. |

They're for people who thought they hated beer, because the only stuff they'd tried is pisswater like Budweiser, Heineken, Stella and Fosters. |
