My Narrative of the Civil War
Back in the 1860's when the US population was ~30mil, a number of families of Southern decent (385k) owned roughly 3mil slaves. The North, seeing how wrong this was, sent an army to fight the South in a war named the Civil War. A total of 225,000 Union soldiers to died to free the slaves. President Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves through the Emancipation Proclamation and later the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was passed to outlaw slavery. President Lincoln paid with his life for the cause of freedom.
Today the population of the US is 300+mil. Every person that immigrated to the country post 1865 and has nothing to do with the conditions existing prior to that time is taught how brave and noble men and women gave their lives to uphold an ideal " that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." THE END.

Do you honestly think that a major conflict like the Civil War, which involved massive loss of life and money spend was actually fought over the plight of a human being..... Sorry to break it to you. Most wars are fought over money, land, resources, and power.

5. The Emancipation Proclamation didn’t actually free all of the slaves.

It's nice that things turned around like they did, and we have a modern America without slavery.... let's just not cloud, confuse, and contort history.
