International Peace Day - September 21st

Join the global movement for a culture of peace...

While our world is hurting, there is the evolution of a culture of peace that the mainstream media never shares. Many different movements for social change are beginning to converge into a more unified holistic movement for a more peaceful, just and sustainable world -- or what UNESCO has labeled "a global movement for a culture of peace."

The Culture of Peace Initiative ( [link to www.cultureofpeace.org] is a United Nations-designated Peace Messenger Initiative, coordinated by Pathways To Peace, that is helping to connect organizations and individuals to build a culture of peace world-wide. CultureOfPeace.org facilitates the opportunity to share ideas, resources, and best practices to both encourage local activities and grow the global movement.

September 21, 2006 will be the 25th annual observance of the International Day of Peace (Peace Day) which is a highlight of the Culture of Peace Initiative. Peace Day events, concerts, marches, and peace vigils are being planned by more than 1200 organizations in over 150 nations. For a special treat The Joan Kenley Show will feature an hour-long program - "Celebrating the International Day of Peace" - on San Francisco's radio station KQKE 960AM "The Quake" at 5PM (PST) on September 23rd.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama said, "It is by combining intelligence and emotion that we can change and transform our inner world." - which of course is what can bring peace everywhere. This show is dedicated to the people and organizations around the world who are, each day, doing their part to contribute to a peaceful, sustainable planet.

The program will include

* how storytelling, music and dance can teach and promote peace
