AT&T Handed NSA 1 Billion American Phone Records Per Day Under Single Program
Under a decades-old program with the government, telecom giant AT&T in 2003 led the way on a new collection capability that the National Security Agency said amounted to a “‘live’ presence on the global net” and would forward 400 billion Internet metadata records in one of its first months of operation

Such an obscene number, no wonder they need all those 'data' centers....

Re: AT&T Handed NSA 1 Billion American Phone Records Per Day Under Single Program
AT&T began handing over 1.1 billion domestic cellphone calling records a day to the NSA

I'd really love to lay eyes on some of the logistics' summaries for some of the off-book programs.

I pretty much answer the question "well, what all are they gathering," simply with "everything," when asking myself the depth of government snooping.

Why do you think the census were so adamant on tracking every one of us down? BTW They didn't count me...

That's a bit too vague to be posed rhetorically, or maybe I'm just too slow to pick up what you're putting down; Why was the census so adamant on tracking every one of us down in relation to AT&T's NSA data shovelage?

Not surprised at all by this btw...I'm really glad concrete documentation is coming out so anyone who doubted government over-reach can have their arguments shoved back in their respective faces.

What, these AT&T/NSA threads have 3 or 4 replies and 100 views?

Why do you think they are pushing U-Verse so hard? they are worse than used car salesmen with that shit. Why should they care if you have a wireless device in every room? Oh because more rooms for your devices to spy on you.

Start of ATT Collaboration with NSA

[link to cryptome.org (secure)]

AT&T started to collaborate with AT&T [NSA] to take part in unlawful eavesdropping on American citizens in 1984, shortly after (literally minutes) the division of what was AT&T took place that year.

Due to the ECI relationship, the technicians for AT&T had to possess a Top Secret security clearance to actually just access the fiber, because they might "accidentally" discover the tap, or discover data being diverted out of the fiber optic multiplexers. By the way, "ECI" means that the company is given a code name to conceal their involvement in illegal activities. For example, AT&T has a code name, MCI has a code name, Sprint has one, and so on. The ECI codename for AT&T is "FAIRVIEW" and also US-990, but pay attention to the US-990 SIGAD code and it tends to indicate when a code and alias was initiated. US-990 dates from the day AT&T was broken up. On that date, each of the "baby bells" was given a ECI codename and SIGAD code name in the manner of that of AT&T.

The NSA committed treason by sharing our phone records with the Israeli government.

Not surprisingly, the MSM doesn't talk about this fact...

That's just a drop in the bucket. Or maybe a drop in the ocean. The NSA has everything everyone has done for years. Having a judge, and congress tell them to stop made no difference. They are still recording everything.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

They don't have enough personnel to wring any kind of meaningful data from that many calls. Sure they probably use keyword software to sort though some, but even then they would be swamped. All I can think of is that they archive them in digital format at their huge data centers. I guess after a certain period of time has passed, they delete the old and bring in new data.

It's a lot older than decades. The communications business has been in bed with the federal government since the 40s.
