Give it to pets for a few months and they will be gone (until the pet picks up some from outside). I have a white cat that the fleas could not be removed from. Damn things were immune to everything. Gave my pet about 1/2 the pill (its a cat, trying to get them to do anything is impossible), and 95% of the fleas in my house were dead in a few days. The rest died within a week. The next months dosage was simply to mop up any lingering hatchlings or strays from around the yard. |

You can also feed them some Brewer's Yeast every day. The dosage is 1 tsp. for cats and smaller dogs, 2 tsp. for medium-sized dogs and up to a tablespoon for large dogs. It will take about 4 weeks to get rid of the fleas. Use it thereafter as a preventative measure. If given too much your pet can develop skin allergies so that would be something you would want to keep an eye on, You can also rub it into your pet's fur. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69725011 You can get the K9 Flea Products on ebay for much cheaper than anyone else (same product for cats and dogs). There is the Flea Killer, a generic Capstar, which kills fleas for over 24 hours Then Flea control which is given once a month which kills the egg and larva production. It is put in their food (a favorite food). A fatty/oily food helps the product kick in. I add a little grape seed oil, which they love. |

Easy entry for nanos to enter your house? The cheap crappy collars my mom and I've gotten for our dogs and cats over the years have been quite useful and made them smell better too. I forgot what brand they were but I know that they're cheap. Sergie brand maybe. I forgot. It's the collars that make that white powdery substance whenever you pull on them from end to end. Sucks to hear that Frontline is wasted money though. Conspiracy Theorist is nothing more than a derogatory title used to dismiss a critical thinker. Yes the K9 Lufenuron (larvae egg killer) works awesome - I don't give my dog anything else and it works GREAT! 100% non-harmful. 1/mo CHEAP. Can't vouch for the K9 capstar substitute - research indicates this should be a seizure causer in dogs who are susceptible to it so I won't risk it. But don't need to anyways, the lufenuron works wonders. |

But on his animals he doesn't use it. Also doesn't recommend it to family or friends. So yeah, I'd guess it's junk. They just push it in the office because I guess it's like Dr's and meds, they get some kind of kickback to push it. It's a pill you give your dog/cat that releases a fungus lethal to parasites. Sounds to me like the most credible alternative so far. The problem is that it's delivered on prescription. The name is Chrono-something and I know most veterinaries don't know about it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 69790603 United States 08/17/2015 03:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | wash your pet and comb all the dead fleas out. Just soap. Like Dr Bronners. When the pet is dry take pinches of the DE and run it into the fur down to the skin. Focus on the areas fleas congregate, if you were dealing with fleas , you know. Dont use so much DE that it is puffing up into the air you are breathing, it is not good to breathe it. However it is nontoxic and farmers add it to feed to keep their animals and chickens parasite free. You can use it too. You can sprinkle in the carpet and leave a few days before vacumming up. You can put some in the yard but unless your yard is really thick with fleas, dont do that because you will kill beneficial insects too. You will discover that fleas are not a problem. Feed your pet good food and not rancid crap kibble that makes them flea magnets. An animal needs nutritious food to thrive. dont use chemical flea products that are dangerous to your pet,if it says on the instructions that you are not supposed to make contact with the chemical, do you think it is safe for your pet? What about when you are petting your pet, or your pet sleeps on your bed. Dont you think you are getting the toxic chemical on yourself? |
