I think that is a fallacy that the lefties want everyone to believe.

Teenagers have been devastated by the economy. They aren't buying because they can't, no matter what color they are, get jobs and therefore the spending they used to do isn't happening.

Grown men, after a couple of years, have just given up looking for work. They would love to put on a roof or mow a lawn. Being at home, out of work, is taking it's toll on them.

That's two groups, sure there are more.

In canada we have seasonal workers from south america flown in just for the summer to work the fields. It can be done.

The big idea on the left is that more illegals will eventually be granted citizenship and voting rights. This will hopefully more than compensate for all the aborted children of Democrats.

The big idea on the right is to flood the US with CHEAP labor. It isn't that folks won't do hard work, it's that employers would rather pay a pittance for folks to do grunt work just to keep the labor cost low and that helps them to compete in the marketplace.

Real Americans are willing to work, but they want a livable wage in return, and big business won't go for that voluntarily. But if we could truly slam shit the borders, wages would have to rise, and the employers would just have to raise the prices a bit to pass along the added cost of production. Since all employers would suddenly be in the same bind, the rise in price of labor would jump rather quickly and the best workers would do very well.

We call a man lazy who refuses to bust his ass doing hard labor for minimum wage. That same man, offered real wages freely from an employer, would be greatly incentivized to get out there and earn that high wage.

We're doing it wrong. We're doing it all wrong.

No American citizen will work a slave wage job when they are making more on welfare plain and simple. That's why all the illegals are taking the labor jobs. Cause no true citizen is out looking for them

Immigration is an issue no doubt. I have no problem with immigration if they are willing to do it legally. Illegally it is out of hand

Americans cannot get near any "trades" such as tile setting, roofing, dry walling/taping etc because the contractors are using illegal workers.
they're not getting slave wages either.
