Easy to say that now that we are older but not when we were 10 - 13 yrs. old and our gym teacher looked like an ape on steroids!

Once my clothes got stolen ( we had mutual dressing room too) and I had to sitt naked while everyone got dressed,
I remember that the teacher refused to help me, luckily I convinced a friend to go and get my mum, so she came and took me home, I didnt have to shower with the other kids after that.

In addition to proper hygeine, which is not available to all students, it allows detection of physical abuse and certain types of drug abuse, like intravenous, skin-popping and the use of steroids.

Eh, you don't work up enough of a sweat in GYM CLASS to need a shower, especially if you showered already in the morning. What, a few jumping jacks are gonna have an effect?

OK, for a while in junior high, the gym teacher made everyone take showers, but one kid refused. The sick bastard humiliated him, and as I passed by his office where he was berating the poor kid, he was telling him he wanted his father's phone number, so he could "report" him. (nice touch, making sure the father was involved, little extra humiliation there) And yes, to get back to the showering itself, the closeted homo was there handing out towels individually, so as to get a good look at each dong as it went by..

Any gym teachers wish to comment? Perhaps there aren't any here, it would require rudimentary reading skills..

Funny aside, a couple of years later, the principal, vice principal, (both male)and a FEMALE gym teacher were involved in a sex scandal involving underage girls..

Epilogue to the story, we were mysteriously not required to take showers a few days after this incident.. I suspect some parent heard about his behavior and told the principal in no uncertain terms it had to stop.

I thought this issue went to court. Kids are no longer REQUIRED to shower. Yeah, it's like a prison.

God, people are such assholes.. let's hear it for the teaching profession.

In my case, this was the 70's, but it's great if that's true. It's weird if you are an only child, or have no brothers, otherwise you might be accustomed to it, but really..it's just not necessary.

Doesn't bother me now, I'm more ashamed of showing my beer belly more than anything else, lol.

Well if the gym teacher did decide to molest you, then report him to the police and you have all your classmates as whitnesses to back your claim up.

Our P.E. class was last period but we still had to shower.
He would come in and pull down peoples shorts.

Then the fat kid would come in after doing the full 15 laps of the field and get towel whipped by all the "thick" kids.

While we were jogging round a frozen football pitch in mid-winter the girls had indoor gym practice. During the summer they had tennis.

The girls actually commented on the situation and we were both agreed on the fact that both male and female PE teachers forced showers and looked/ sat in.

One of the girls complained to the head and the female PE teacher "disappeared".
