None of this matters though unless you are a short to mid term trader, say 2 weeks to a month looking out. Once all the oversold indicators correct themselves we may or may not resume a downtrend.

Up 300 but down almost 600 yesterday averages out to -300 per day so far, hardly a good thing.

One thing I noticed this year is that every time the DOW got to 18000, there was a small correction. It just couldn't get past 18k. I think that is the highest we will see for a very long time.

Today's rally is fake. Shanghai down almost 8% yesterday. We blame Monday's market crash on their "Brack Monday" but then they nosedive again and we rally?

I think our society is so ridiculous at this point in time that perhaps a Depression would be a good thing. Bring people back down to earth and remind us what is really important.

Let me simplify today trading and yesterday's futures. Its not complicated it's simple.

16000. They are defending 16000. The futures were a cushion for the drop coming later in the day. If it closes below 16000 we win 2 days in a row.
Its a psychology thing. They want headlines to read a certain way. That way is 16000 or higher and in the green. Even if only by a little.
That is there only real goal today after yesterday's ass kicking.

Damage control with the sheeple. 16000 and green gives them that.

It's gonna be close.
