I live West of Pittsburgh about 10 miles and we were in our driveway with neighbors until 11 and I didn't hear anything. As a matter of fact, the dog wasn't acting crazy but I need to go out and put the fire out in a bit and take some pictures of the moon what was super bright. If I hear anything, I'll post.

Re: Booming sound in the sky! Western PA
I live right outside of Pittsburgh. There's been this persistent booming sound coming from the sky for the past hour or so. About every ten minutes, a single "Boom". Each time, it's the same pitch, same duration... it's not fireworks. I have no idea what it could be. I tried recording it with my phone, but it's not really coming through. Is anyone else in the Pittsburgh area hearing this?

Re: Booming sound in the sky! Western PA
I just saw this on my FB page and thought I'd post it because it was around the same time frame from when the original poster on this thread posted. The only difference is this was posted from someone who lives in the East Central Part of Pennsylvania.

Alright, my mom is freaking. She lives in Liberty Pa, Tioga county. Last night they heard loud BOOM. So bad they thought someone hit the house. Neighbors heard the same, and about 4-5 mile radius heard it too, but it was "sporadic". 911 was called, but nothing ever followed up, and my moms neighbor was the only complaint. News channels knew nothing. Just now, they heard it again...twice within 45 mins. Again 911 was called, but no other reports and local news knows nothing. Luckily the fire chiefs daughter heard all three as well.
Here is time frame. Saturday night at 8:15 and Sunday at 6:30 and 7:10 pm. Does anyone live around or near? If so did you hear booms? Or any idea of what is going on? All three times my step-dad ran outside to look for a glare, or something. Thinking maybe gas well. Nothing. Fire chief knows nothing but said he will ride around.
