Floridian GLPers - TS Erika conditions in your area?

Clearwater reporting here has been cloudy all day and small amount of rain. I was outside at one point today and it was actually somewhat cool, which is strange. Sometimes that happens before hurricanes though. I'm certainly loving it. The heat's been oppressive this year.

Nothing in Central Florida at this time.

Boca Raton again.
Somewhat breezy, sustained just below 15 MPH, with cloud coverage increasing. Do see some brief heavy downpours already closing in on coastal Broward County but doubt it'll do much in terms of flooding.
The REAL action (mostly in terms of flooding rainfall) should set in overnight and endure into Monday PM before subsiding.
No, it's no longer classified as a tropical storm due to lack of a closed circulation, BUT estimated surface winds are up to TS force in and around the center. Lots of convection.

Naples...nothing from Erika yet...just regular afternoon storms coming in. Don't think we will have weather from Erika until late tonight or tomorrow.

First 'squalls' coming in...
Wind gusts around 30 MPH, though fairly 'brief' (no pun intended there).
Shower coverage increasing over SE Florida, though nothing dramatic as of yet.
I do see, however, rather heavy (torrential?) downpours in the SW Naples region and I'm thinking localized minor flooding COULD be an issue there.
Peak, ofc, isn't expected til overnight into early/mid Monday.

Pouring down rain Naples area...but it is the remnants of hurricane Danny coming in from gulf, as well as showers moving west from inland afternoon storms.

Just updating fellow Floridians, there is a new tropical low in the Caribbean as well as a new storm developing off of Africa.

The bad thing is, the amount of rain is as bad as a strong hurricane

Flash flooding is a formidable concern for anyone south of the I-4 at this time and probably beyond.
AC, I'm eyeing the system to our west too.

Will it even make landfall your way? I was under the impression that it was moving along the western flank of Florida.

No. But the convention and wind radius is almost exclusively to the east of the center... That would mean, say, gale force winds has a higher probability of unfolding with a track 100 miles to the west than 100 miles to the east...
So it's something worth keeping an eye on, but nothing to stress over unless one lives in a flood-prone area and THAT is the primary worry for many ATM. Not the wind or surge.

Your area has been hit by a deluge in the past few weeks or so if I'm not mistaken. Stay safe. I like the Lake Wales/Bartow area, very scenic...

Thanks! Weather channel programming is everything but current weather. I saw on 6 oclock news they were checking area out. Huge areas of rain coming tomorrow.

Palm beach shit is normal. There's some stuff coming off the ocean but nothing to really speak of. I went for a 6 mile jog this evening though cause the cloud cover was nice nice. Tired of all the damn sunshine. It's like living on Crematoria.

Went surfing for 6 hours today in CFL brevard county area, will be out tomorrow, finally waves for this flat summer.

Lots of rain is all I'm really expecting

Here in saint pete, just came from fort myer. Some lightening and wind on sky bridge but nothing concerning really.
